dc.description Relevance of the topic. In order to achieve a high standard of dental care, it is necessary to pay attention to human resources for motivation, education or management. Dental assistants play an important role in providing dental care. Helps to implement one of the main health care objectives, which is to improve the quality of the activities of health care institutions and the quality of services provided (Bagdoniene and Hopenienė, 2009). Dental assistants and dental practitioners always face health risk factors, which can lead to serious health problems in the future (Vainauskas et al., 2010). That’s why we can’t forget anything about worker motivation and job satisfaction (Bagdoniene and Hopenienė, 2009). It is said that providing quality services is possible only when the work is satisfying. Employees are motivated and satisfied with the work performed by more productive work and creativity. These internals determine the quality of the services they provide. It is important for every health care institution to have well-motivated staff, because only a motivated work specialist could feel satisfaction while working and by realizing himself he can achieve good work results. This means that a dental assistant will have a greater impact on a teamwork and will help him to achieve better results (Grujičić et al., 2016). The aim of the study: to measure the satisfaction of the doctor dental assistant in the working environment: in Lithuania and the USA. Research tasks: 1. To discuss the activities of the dentist's dental assistant; 2. Theoretically justify what kind of subjects can determine job satisfaction; 3. To identify the satisfaction of dental assistants' work: in Lithuania and in the United States. Methodology of investigation. The quantitative research methodology was chosen for the research, the collected data are summarized statistically. The method of questionnaire survey was used to reveal the opinion of dental assistants about satisfaction with their working environment. The survey was provided by an online link created with the help of Google Forms and also paper versions of questionnaires for respondents of all ages. Of the 110 interviewed respondents, 105 questionnaires have returned. The data were aggregated and processed by computer using the Microsoft Excel 2010 program. Research results. The investigation revealed that the 70,4% of dental assistants work in Lithuania more than with two dentists, while 54% of Americans work with one doctor. Almost all of the respondents who participated in the study indicated that they would work better in a small office than a large one. Representatives from both of these countries admit that they are happy with teamwork, but the psychological atmosphere is satisfying 66,6% according to Americans. 4,9% difference is that Lithuanians are more likely to be grateful for the amount of money they get while working. Respondents who participated in the survey indicated that the main factors that determine job satisfaction is the teamwork, remuneration for work, workload and the opportunity to improve yourself. Lithuanian dental assistants have a higher workload and load compared to Americans, but Americans are more likely to experience stress and fatigue than Lithuanians. Although under the ergonomic conditions Lithuanians are more satisfied 69,2%, 70% of dental assistants in both countries complain because of the pain in their back and shoulders. According to the results of the survey, almost 36,9% of respondents working in Lithuania would change their profession. The study revealed that 51,9% of the respondents are satisfied with the specialty acquired in Lithuania, while in the USA 72,5% of the respondents showed the same outcome. Conclusions. The investigation revealed that the majority of dental assistants work in Lithuania more than with two dentists, while the vast majority of Americans work with one doctor. All of the respondents who participated in the study indicated that they would work better in a small office than a large one. Representatives from both of these countries admit that they are happy with teamwork, but the psychological atmosphere is more satisfying according to Americans. Although a small difference is that Lithuanians are more likely to be grateful for the amount of money they get while working.
