Research relevancy. The activity field related to cosmetology procedures is rapidly developing due to the increasing desire of people to preserve youthful appearance and control the signs of aging (Sparavigna et al., 2015). At the same time, more attention is paid to alternative facial rejuvenation means, one of them being facial massages (Van Borsel et al., 2014). The popularity of facial massages, and the interest in them impel to perform an experiment and compare the impact of two different types of massage – classical and therapeutic Japanese – on the aging facial skin. Research aim – to determine the impact of cosmetic massages on the aging facial skin. Research objectives: 1. To describe the mechanisms and causes of facial skin aging. 2. To explain the types of cosmetic facial massages, and their impact on aging facial skin from the theoretical point of view. 3. To compare the impact of classical cosmetic and therapeutic Japanese massage on the aging facial skin. Research methods: Scientific, professional literature analysis and experiment. Research participants. Six women aged 40-50 participated in the research, and targeted selection for research participants was used to that end. Selection criteria: gender, age, face type, similar aging signs. Results and conclusions. Skin aging is a multidimensional process conditioned by endogenic and exogenous factors. Changes in skin structures are generated by increasing aging processes. Cosmetic massages are widely used as a preventive means that help to solve the problems of aging skin. Massages activate the blood circulation, remove the dead cells, increase the activity of the sebaceous and sweat glands, and tighten the skin. After the course of classical and therapeutic Japanese massages, it was determined that massages increase the skin adiposity, moisture, which improves the elasticity, and decreases the depth of the wrinkles. Therapeutic Japanese massage had a higher impact on all examined parameters of the skin. This has been confirmed by both objective and subjective evaluations of the clients. |
