dc.description	Revelance of the topic: Recently unwanted hair removal, aesthetic look are very important and popular among young people, especially women. It is proven that increased hairiness have negative influence for psychosocial aspects and can reduce the quality of life. Hair removal can solve this problem, but it is noticed that women have not enough knowledge about unwanted hair removal techniques and can not choose the method correctly. Cosmetologists must provide detailed information about hair removal features and explain to clients which way is more appropriate for them. This data can help prevent complications and improve the psychological state of women. The aim of research work: To estimate women's knowledge about unwanted hair removal techniques. Tasks of work: 1. To describe hair anatomical and physiological features, which impact efficienty of hair removal; 2. To define conditions with increased hairiness – hirsutism and hypertrichosis causes, diagnostics and solutions; 3. To explain hair removal techniques differences, advantages and disadvantages, contraindications; 4. To research women‘s knowledge of hair removal methods, criterion and rating. Brief description. Literature review consists of two parts. The first part describes hair anatomical, physiological features and increased hairiness conditions. On the second part – hair removal methods differences, contraindications and complications. The research presents statistics, which shows women‘s knowledge and opinion about hair removal techniques. Materials and methods. Quantitative study – questionnaire poll was carried out. For investigation purposes, the questionnaire containing 16 questions has been created. The aim of this research was to find out women‘s knowledge of hair removal methods. The study involved 50 women performing unwanted hair removal procedures. Results and conclusions. The research presents, that the most popular unwanted hair removal method is shaving with a razor. It is because of a low price and possibility to do procedure at home. Researches had the least knowledge of the contraindications, complications and laser efficacy of epilation methods. Most of the researchers consider their knowledge of hair removal "satisfactorily" and agrees that more detailed information would provide a better choice for epilation. Cosmetologists have to inform their clients on this topic and make it possible to evaluate hair removal methods not only at the price or place of performance.	en
dc.description.abstract	Literatūros apžvalgą sudaro trys dalys. Pirmojoje aprašyti plauko anatominiai ir fiziologiniai ypatumai. Antrojoje – padidėjusio plaukuotumo priežastys: hirsutizmas ir hipertrichozė. Apibrėžtos šių sutrikimų atsiradimo priežastys, diagnostika bei sprendimo būdai. Trečioje dalyje apibūdinti visi nepageidaujamų plaukelių šalinimo būdai, aptarti jų skirtumai bei pateiktos kontraindikacijos, komplikacijos. Tiriamojoje dalyje pateikti statistiniai duomenys, gauti atlikus tyrimą, kurie nurodo moterų nuomonę bei žinias apie skirtingus plaukų šalinimo būdus.	en_US
