dc.description The relevance of the topic. Co-dependency is an emotional and behavioural condition of the person manifesting the loss of individuality, self-neglect, low self-worth and unhealthy need to control others. Co-dependent individuals usually lack knowledge and skills to recognise and find solutions to the problems arising from the condition that they suffer. Trained social workers help those who are affected by rebuilding their self-dependence, self-esteem; in giving professional advice on how to successfully resolve any problems/conflicts in the day-to-day family life, and in providing answers to the arising co-dependent’s queries. The research shows that only one sixth of the participants claim that social workers do not fulfil the above activities. Furthermore, the analysis of the data collected suggests that the most frequent (once a week, once in two weeks) activities by social workers are as follows: to provide information about social care and services, to help to resolve various family issues, to help to improve problem solving skills, to do home visits, to improve social skills. One third of the respondents, however, suggested that the above mentioned activities were performed only once a month or even once in three months. The analysis of the data collected also indicates that approximately two thirds of the respondents view the following activities as the least performed ones: transport and nutrition. en
dc.description.abstract Netiesioginė priklausomybė – savo individualybės praradimo liga, pasireiškianti perdėtu artimojo kontroliavimu, savo poreikių netenkinimu, žemu savęs vertinimu ir kt. Netiesiogiai priklausomiems asmenims trūksta žinių, gebėjimų ir įgūdžių atpažinti, bei spręsti jiems iškylančias problemas. Jiems neretai yra reikalinga pagalba, kurią teikia socialiniai darbuotojai, dirbantys įvairiose socialinėse įstaigose. Socialinis darbuotojas teikdamas bendrąsias socialines paslaugas didina netiesiogiai priklausomų asmenų savarankiškumą, padeda spręsti šeimoje iškylančias problemas, informuoja rūpimais klausimais. en_US
