dc.description Relevence of topic. Scientists carried out a research project across 1035 teenagers in largest cities in Lithuania. Results showed that 74.5% interviewed had tooth decay issues (according to Milčiuvienė ir kt., 2004). High number of tooth decay issues are caused by lack of knowledge and skills (Matulaitienė ir Šriupšaitė, 2017). Meanwhile adults maintain and take best care of oral hygiene between all age groups. They also see dentist regarding tooth decay less often that others. Although because of lack of knowledge they more often have to see the dentist to check periodontal issues (Andruškevičienė, 2017). Research in Vilnius showed that citizens who are 45 years and older have good knowledge of oral hygiene routine, but they also more often complain about periodontal issues (Andruškevičienė, 2017). Aim of the study. Analyse oral hygiene knowledge and skills between different age groups. Goals: 1. Discuss individual and professional oral hygiene 2. Discuss mouth disease 3. Discuss oral hygiene knowledge and skills between different age groups Methods of study. Online survey of 21 questions was created to support this research (Attachment No.1). There were questions for applicant to write the answers and also test type question to select matching answer. Statistic analysis was created using MS Excel 2010. Survey questions were analysed and written results given. This research took time from 12th March to 10th April 2018 in region Kaunas city and also online. All 15 printed surveys arrived in condition good to use for research. Online it was completed by 72 respondents with 100% completed. In total there are 87 completed surveys. Results of the study. Survey was completed by different age respondents: 30 respondents- under 20 years old, 27 resp. age group is between 20-45 years old and 30 of them were age between 45 - 65. Youngest respondents was 12 years old and oldest- 65. Results showed that respondents aged 20-45 years have better oral hygiene knowledge and skills than those who are 12-20 and 45-65 years old. Last 2 age groups lack knowledge and this affect bad skills. Conclusion. After analysing survey results it was established that bigger part of respondents aged 12-20 and 45-65 years old do not have enough knowledge and are not interested to improve their oral hygiene skills. Pirmajame buvo analizuojama mokslinė literatūra apie profesionalią burnos higieną, individualią burnos higieną, burnos ertmės ligas. Antrojoje dalyje aprašoma empirinio tyrimo metodika ir rezultatai.
