dc.description Relevance of the topic. Social workers in the work practice perform certain activities with the public or certain social groups. One of the social groups with which social workers work is people with mental disorders. People with mental disorders are a highly sensitive and complex social group. Because working with people with mental disabilities is specific, social workers apply art therapy techniques in their work practice. Art therapy is one of the alternative methods that uses creativity. For people with mental disorders, art therapy methods have a major impact on overcoming their communication, emotions, and mental problems. Aim of the research. To reveal possibilities of application of art therapy methods in social work, with persons with mental disorders. Subject matter of the research. Applying art therapy methods in social work, with persons with mental disorders. Question of research. What are the possibilities of applying art therapy methods in social work with persons with mental disorders? Method of the research: Analysis of scientific sources and documents for the theoretical aspects of work. Qualitative research by using a semi-structured interview. During the interviews, the aim is to get closer to the awareness of the informants and to understand the research phenomena. Research Results and Conclusions: The study found that a social worker, working with people with mental disabilities, is capable of performing art therapy methods. In practice, they apply techniques of felting, drawing (collage, mandala) art therapy. The research showed that the professionalism of a social worker and the empathy of applying art therapy methods help to establish and maintain positive relationships with the client. Art therapy methods have great health benefits on people with mental disorders, as well as on their psychological, emotional, physical states. Social workers have confirmed that art therapy is one of the tools that enables people with mental disabilities to develop their expression and communication. According to social workers, this is very important because it is difficult for people with mental disorders to communicate with others and during the therapy they have the opportunity to communicate with others. en
dc.description.abstract Socialiniai darbuotojai darbo praktikoje atlieka tam tikras veiklas su visuomenės ar tam tikromis socialinėmis grupėmis. Viena iš socialinių grupių, su kuriomis dirbą socialiniai darbuotojai yra psichikos sutrikimų turintys asmenys. Psichikos sutrikimų turintys asmenys yra itin jautri ir sudėtinga socialinė grupė. Kadangi, darbas su psichikos sutrikimų turinčiais asmenimis yra specifinis, socialiniai darbuotojai darbo praktikoje taiko dailės terapijos metodus. Dailės terapija yra viena iš alternatyvių metodų, kurios metu pasitelkiama kūrybiškumu. Psichikos sutrikimų turintiems asmenims dailės terapijų metodai turi didelį poveikį jų bendravimo, emocijų, psichikos problemų įveikai. en_US
