Nowadays, more and more people choose healthy lifestyles, eating of green food, refusing to eat meat and meat products is getting popular. However, a lot of young people in their studying age are consuming unhealthy meals. They choose fast food, sweetened beverages and energy drinks. The timetable of lectures, lack of time and stress have a lot of influence to these eating habits.
Objective - To determine the differences of eating habits of students in different study programs. Research tasks: to describe the value of diet for young individuals, to reveal the eating habits of students and to evaluate students knowlege of healthy eating. Methodology. An anonymous questionnaire was made, the questions were based on the analysed literature. Students of all student programs participated in the survey. 100 people completed the survey. The questionnaire was distributed in ,,Facebook’’. Subjects. Students of the dietetic and multimedia technology study programs were chosen. The purpose of this choice is to reveal how students from different study programs eat and what knowledge do they have about healthy eating.
It turns out that more students from dietetic study program know what is a healthy diet (90 percent), than those who study multimedia technology (80 percent). Students studying multimedia technology eat irregularly (48 percent), whereas students in dietetic study program think, that their diet is unbalanced (52 percent). More dietists eat fruit and vegetables several times per day (22 percent and 14 percent), grain products (20 percent), they eat regularly, breakfast, lunch and dinner at the same time every day (34 percent). Also, students studying in this program knew more diseases related to unhealthy diet, while multimedia technology students only knew few of the basic diseases, such as obesity, anorexia and bulimia.
