dc.description This Bachelor‘s work called “Women’s knowledge and care habits of oral health during pregnancy” was made by Gintarė Ivoškaitė (dental assistant study program). Work manager lect. Danguolė Grūnovienė. Kaunas College, Medical faculty, The Oral Health Department. Kaunas, 2018. The purpose of this Bachelor‘s work is to identify women’s knowledge and care habits of oral health during pregnancy. Main tasks: 1. To base most prevalent diseases of the mouth during pregnancy. 2. To discuss the main oral health care tools and techniques during pregnancy. 3. To assess women’s knowledge and care habits of oral health during pregnancy This Bachelor‘s work was made using these methods: analysis of scientific literature and a written questionnaire. On purpose to assess women’s knowledge and care habits of oral health during pregnancy there was made quantitative research, data collection method - a written questionnaire. Research was made during 2018 March 29- May 7. In this survey participated 141 maternal after childbirth until 30 years old that were selected by non-stochastic commemorative sampling method. Questionnaire contained 20 questions. Statistical data analysis has been completed using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences program. Tables and schedules was made with MS Excel 2010. Women’s knowledge during pregnancy was sufficient, but care habits of oral health inappropriate. 91.3% of women at least once visited a dentist during their pregnancy, 56.8% of were for prophylactic examination, but 27.7% it is not important, and only 55.1% of respondents visited oral hygienist, but 39.0% it’s not important. 81.2% was brushing their teeth two or more times per day, but only 69.1% of women used a soft toothbrush. According to the frequency of toothbrush change, 75.3% of women correctly changed toothbrush during pregnancy. The mouthwashes was used by only 36.7% and dental floss was used by 53.6% of the women, while 86.6% said it should be used. 38.4% of the respondents knew how to properly maintain their oral cavity after vomiting. 76.8% of women started to eat more food with higher risk of tooth decay and erosion. Only 18.7% of respondents did not complain about gum condition during pregnancy, 36.2% - of oral mucosa, 20.3% - of dental condition. In conclusion individual oral health care habits among maternal after childbirth do not ensure appropriate oral health during pregnancy. en
