dc.description	Relevance of the topic: Home birth reduces the emergence of fears and helps expectant mothers relax more, allowing them to focus solely on the process itself (Skrondal et al., 2020). To establish the procedure for providing home birth care services, the requirements for midwives, facilities, and the list of mandatory equipment, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Lithuania issued Order No. V-10 on January 3, 2019, "On the Approval of the Description of the Procedure for Providing Home Birth Care Services," which allows midwives to attend low-risk home births. Research problem: What are students’ attitudes towards home birth and their knowledge about it? Research object: Students’ attitudes towards home birth and their knowledge about It Research aim: To determine students’ attitudes towards home birth and their knowledge about it Research objectives: 1. To describe the advantages and disadvantages of home birth and the attitudes of midwives towards it in different countries. 2. To determine the attitudes and knowledge of X College students regarding the advantages of home birth for the mother and the newborn. 3. To determine the attitudes and knowledge of X College students regarding the risks of home birth for the mother and the newborn. 4. To determine the attitudes and knowledge of X College students regarding the challenges faced by healthcare professionals assisting at home birth. Research methods: A quantitative research strategy was applied for this study. Based on an analysis of the scientific literature, the study was conducted using a questionnaire survey as the data collection method. The research participants were second, third, and fourth-year midwifery students and fourth-year general nursing students from X College. Main research results: Home birth is an appealing choice due to its emphasis on privacy, comfort, and naturality; however, it poses risks related to limited access to medical assistance in critical situations. Students acknowledge both the advantages of this option, such as reduced stress for the mother and stronger bonding with the newborn, and its disadvantages, particularly those associated with potential complications. dc.description.abstract	Temos aktualumas: Gimdymas namuose būsimoms mamoms mažina baimių atsiradimą ir padeda labiau atsipalaiduoti, susitelkti tik į patį procesą (Skrondal ir kt., 2020). Siekiant nustatyti gimdymo namuose priežiūros paslaugos teikimo tvarką, reikalavimus akušeriams, patalpoms bei privalomųjų priemonių sąrašą 2019m. sausio 3d. įsigaliojo Sveikatos Apsaugos Ministerijos (SAM) įsakymas Nr. V-10 „Dėl gimdymo namuose priežiūros paslaugos teikimo tvarkos aprašo patvirtinimo”, kuris leidžia akušeriams priimti mažos rizikos gimdymą namuose . Tyrimo problema: Koks studentų požiūris į gimdymą namuose ir žinios apie jį? Tyrimo objektas: Studentų požiūris į gimdymą namuose ir žinios apie jį Tyrimo tikslas: Nustatyti studentų požiūrį į gimdymą namuose ir žinias apie jį. Tyrimo uždaviniai: 1. Aprašyti gimdymo namuose privalumus bei trūkumus ir akušerių požiūrį į jį skirtingose šalyse. 2. Nustatyti X kolegijos studentų požiūrį ir žinias apie gimdymo namuose privalumus gimdyvei ir naujagimiui. 3. Nustatyti X kolegijos studentų požiūrį ir žinias apie gimdymo namuose sąlygojamas rizikas gimdyvei ir naujagimiui.4. Nustatyti X kolegijos studentų požiūrį ir žinias apie gimdymo namuosekeliamus iššūkius pagalbą teikiantiems specialistams. Tyrimo metodika: Tyrimui atlikti buvo taikoma kiekybinė strategija. Remiantis mokslinės literatūros analize, tyrimas vykdomas pasirenkant anketinę apklausą kaip duomenų rinkimo metodą. Tyrime dalyvavo X kolegijos antro, trečio ir ketvirto kurso akušerijos bei ketvirto kurso bendrosios praktikos slaugos studentai/-ės. Apibendrintos tyrimo išvados: Gimdymas namuose yra patrauklus pasirinkimas dėl privatumo, komforto ir natūralumo, tačiau jis kelia rizikų dėl ribotos medicininės pagalbos prieinamumo kritinėse situacijose. Studentai pripažįsta tiek šio pasirinkimo privalumus, tokius kaip mažesnis stresas gimdyvei ir stipresnis ryšys su naujagimiu, tiek trūkumus, susijusius su galimomis komplikacijomis. Specialistams gimdymas namuose kelia organizacinių ir komunikacinių iššūkių, pabrėžiant svarbą užtikrinti saugumą ir tinkamą pasirengimą.	en_US
