The paper consists of 40 pages and includes 3 graphs, 26 references, and 3 appendixes with examples. The subject of the paper is the cases of translation shifts in the translation of Michael J. Sandel's “What money can’t buy: the moral limits of markets”. The problem question of the Thesis is how grammatical translation shifts are applied while translating popular business literature into Lithuanian. The aim of the research is to identify the cases of grammatical translation shifts used while translating popular business literature from English into Lithuanian. The methods applied include: 1) the analysis of theoretical references; 2) the descriptive comparative linguistic analysis. The paper consists of two main parts: the theoretical and practical ones, which investigate the replacements of word forms, parts of speech and parts of the sentence while translating from English and Lithuanian business related literature. The variety of the replacements made while translating into the Lithuanian language is great. The study of the theoretical statements found in Pažūsis (2014) and Baker (2008) and the linguistic analysis revealed that grammatical replacements vary. It is word forms, parts of speech and parts of the sentence which may be replaced. It can be said that the replacement of parts of speech in many cases is caused by the linguistic tendencies of the TL. Not all replacements of the parts of the sentence have the same value. Some of them are necessary because they are caused by differences in the SL and TL, and some are optional but provide an additional option for translation. The grammatical replacements are used while translating business-related texts to provide coherence and conciseness of the TL. Sandel knygos „What money can‘t buy: the moral limits of markets“ vertime. Pakeitimų įvairovė verčiant iš anglų kalbos į lietuvių kalbą yra gana didelė. Vertimas yra sudėtingas ir atsakingas procesas. Verčiant populiariąją verslo literatūrą ypač svarbu ne tik paklusti lietuvių kalbos normoms, bet ir palikti teksto prasmę nepakitusią. Pagrindinė šio darbo problema – kokios gramatinės transfomacijos būtinos verčiant populiariąją verslo literatūrą į lietuvių kalbą ir kaip jas naudoti. Pagrindinis šio darbo tikslas yra išanalizuoti gramatines vertimo transformacijas, būtinas verčiant populiariąją verslo literatūrą. Metodai: 1) teorinės medžiagos analizė; 2) aprašymu bei sugretinimu pagrįsta lingvistinė analizė. Darbas susideda iš dviejų pagrindinių dalių, teorinės ir lingvistinės analizės, kuriose aptariami originalo ir vertimo kalbų žodžių formų, kalbos dalių bei sakinio dalių ypatybės, jų vertimo būdai ir tendencijos, pastebėtos populiariosios verslo literatūros vertime. Apibendrinus teorinius teiginius, rastus Pažūsio (2014) ir Baker (2008) šaltiniuose, ir atlikus lingvistinę analizę, galima teigti, jog pakeitimai yra vertimo perdarų tipas, kuris turi daugiausiai variacijų. Pakeisti galima žodžių formas, kalbos dalis bei sakinio dalis. Daugeliu atveju kalbos dalies keitimas vyskta atsižvelgiant į vertimo kalbos normas. Ne visi pakeitimai turi vienodą vertę. Vieni yra būtini, nes juos lemia orginalo kalbos ir vertimo kalbos skirtumai. Kiti yra nebūtini, bet teikia laisvesnio vertimo galimybę. Verčiant populiariąją verslo literatūrą naudojami pakeitimai užtikrina teksto nuoseklumą bei glaustumą. Taip pat rasta tokių pakeitimo atvejų, kurie teoriniuose šaltiniuose aprašyti nebuvo. | en_US |
