dc.description	Evelina Ramanauskaite (oral hygiene study program) completed her final thesis „Patients„ Knowledge about the Impact of Smoking on Oral Health“. Job Leader Lect. Danguolė Mieldaţienė. Kaunas College. Medicine Faculty. Department of Oral Health, Kaunas; 2018 The aim of the final thesis is to reveal patients‟ knowledge of the influence of smoking on oral health. Research tasks: 1. Describe the type of tobacco, the composition of its products and its health effects. 2. To distinguish smoking-induced oral cavity diseases. 3. Identify the smoking experience of smokers regarding the effects of smoking on oral health. In the final work, the analysis of scientific literature and questionnaire survey were conducted in writing. In order to reveal patients‟ knowledge of the influence of smoking on oral health, a quantitative study was used, the method of data collection was chosen – an anonymous written survey. An anonymous questionnaire was conducted at the Private Hospital of Kaunas City, MB ”Healthy mouth”. 122 questionnaires were distributed. Questionnaires were completed and returned by 122 respondents (100 percent response rate). Quantitative data analysis was performed using the Microsoft Office Excel 2010 program. The result of the study showed that patients are clearly aware of the effects of smoking on oral health. But only a quarter of them assess their oral health as “very good”. And only one third of patients will rate their knowledge as ”good”. Comparing patient knowledge with demographic indicators – social indicators (place of residence, social status), it turned out that more than half of the respondents are working and living in the city, better assess their knowledge of the potential impact of smoking on the development of oral diseases than those working and living in rural areas.	en
