Rezultatai. Tyrimo rezultatai parodė, kad net 64 % tėvų, leidžia gerti limonadą ir/ar sultis tiek kiek vaikas nori, tačiau iš jų net 30 % atsakė, kad vaikas turi sugedusių dantų. Tie, kurie teigia, jog koncentruotų sulčių ar limonado gerti neleidžia visai (tai sudaro 46 %), tik maža dalis, t.y. 12 % atsakė, kad vaikas turi sugedusių dantų. Saldžiai užkandžiauti leidžia 64 %, kartais tai daryti leidžia 31 %. Tyrime pastebėta, jog 62 % dantis valosi du kartus per dieną, 32 % tai daro kartą per dieną, tačiau net 82 % nenaudoja liežuvio valikio, 60 % nenaudoja tarpdančių siūlo. Tarpdančių siūlu tarpdančių visai nevalo net 50 % vaikų iš jų net 56 % turi sugedusių dantų. Tarp tirtųjų ėduonies paplitimas siekia 79 %.
Išvados. Vaikams, kuriems leidžiama geri limonadus ar koncentruotas sultis, tiek, kiek jie nori, ėduonies paplitimas didesnis nei tiems, kuriems tai neleidžiama. Net 50 % vaikų, tarpdančių nevalo tarpdančių siūlu ir iš jų 56 % turi sugedusius dantis.

Object of the study. Elementary school student oral hygiene and usage of carbohydrates connections.
Goal of the study. Identifying the connections between usage of carbohydrates by elementary school students and their oral hygiene habits.
Tasks. 1. Find a theoretical effects of oral hygiene on oral heath. 2. Reveal how carbohydrates influence oral diseases. 3. Identifying the connections between usage of carbohydrates by elementary school students and their oral hygiene habits based on the parent opinion.
Relevance of the topic. Good oral health is affected by consumption of carbohydrates. There is a constant increase in consumption of carbohydrates, but there is a lack of research into connections of carbohydrates and oral hygiene.
Methods of study and contingents. Analyzation of scientific literature, anonymous questionnaire- questions made up based on analyzed literature. Questionnaire was filled out by 108 respondents, who’s children study at Alytaus Senamesčio elementary school.
Results. The results of the study show, that 64 % of parents let their kids drink soft drinks and/or juices as much as the kids desire, even though 30 % of them answered, that their kid had decayed teeth. Those who claim that they prohibit their kids from drinking concentrated juices or soft drinks (this makes 46 %) had a minority of 12 % with kids who had decayed teeth. 64 % of parents let their kids have sweets and other 31 % allow it on occasion. Study shows, that 62 % brush their teeth 2 time per day, 31 % does it only one time per day, however 82 % do not use tongue cleaner and 60 % do not floss their teeth. 50 % of the kids do not floss and 56 % of them have teeth decay. Between questioned 79 % have dental cavity.
Conclusion. Children that are allowed to drink concentrated juices and soft drinks as much as they want are more likely to have dental cavity than those who are not allowed. 50 % of the kids do not floss and 56 % of them have decayed teeth.
