dc.description Skin ageing is a complex biological process resulting from both instrinsic and extrinsic factors. Changes of skin structure, function and appearance are monitored. Natural ageing process is conditional and irreversible, but it is possible to prevent or slow down premature ageing. In order to prevent skin from ageing face massage as exposure measure can be applied. There are different kind of massages, performance techniques – and they all activate blood circulation, stimulate metabolism, facilitate the removal of metabolic products, strengthens tissues and muscles, helps the skin to stay longer evenly, young and elastic (Bourgeois N. ir Meyer S., 2017). The aim of the study is to determine the effect of cosmetic facial massage on aging skin. Tasks: 1) to describe the causes, mechanisms and signs of skin aging; 2) theoretically explain the types of cosmetic facial massages and the effect on the condition of aging skin; 3) Compare the effects of classical and Japanese therapeutic facial massage on aging skin. Methods used in the work: 1. Assessment of the skin condition by diagnostic device "Skin analyzer Soft plus". Such indicators as skin fat, moisture, elasticity and wrinkle depth were analyzed. 2. The study involved six women aged 40-50 with signs of aging skin. The randomized trial was divided into two groups. A classical face massage (10 procedures) was applied to the first investigatory group, while a Japanese therapeutic massage course (8 procedures) – to the second one. Results and Conclusions: skin aging is a multidimensional process that involves changes in the epidermis, derma and hypodermia, resulting residual changes in the structure, function and appearance of the skin. The study revealed that classical and Japanese therapeutic facial massages had a beneficial effect on the aging skin condition. In both groups sebum secretion increased, the restoration of barrier function resulted better skin moisture. The indirect effect on skin moisture has improved elasticity, reduced wrinkle depth. Due to the longer duration of the massage and the stronger effect on deep tissues, the Japanese therapeutic facial massage has had a greater impact on all skin parameters studied. The theme of the work is relevant and new due to non-existance of the similar experiments comparing these two types of massages till now. en
