Relevance of the topic – Occupational therapy has a unique value in the young child's independence and self-reliance when participating in home or community activities; however, the opinion of other specialists on this subject has not been explored in Lithuania. Research problem – In Lithuania, the views of other professionals on the role of the occupational therapist in the early childhood has not yet been extensively studied. Research object – the role of the occupational therapist in early childhood from the point of view of other professionals. Research aim – to analyse the role of the occupational therapist in early childhood from the point of view of other professionals. Research objectives: 1. To identify the issues that occupational therapists address in early childhood. 2. To identify how occupational therapists differ in their working principles or methodologies from other specialists in the team working with young children. 3. To analyse which professional qualities of occupational therapists can contribute to a child's education. Research method: qualitative research using semi-structured interview. Research results: According to the results of the study, four main categories of the occupational therapist's role have been identified: areas of occupational therapy activity, occupational therapist’s working principles, occupational therapist's distinctive working specifics, and most essential professional qualities.	en_US
dc.description.abstract	Temos aktualumas – ergoterapija turi išskirtinę vertę mažo vaiko savarankiškume, jam dalyvaujant namų ar bendruomenės veiklose, tačiau Lietuvoje nebuvo tirta kitų specialistų nuomonė šiuo klausimu. Tyrimo problema – Lietuvoje nėra ištirta kitų specialistų nuomonė apie ergoterapeuto vaidmenį ankstyvajame vaiko amžiuje. Tyrimo objektas – ergoterapeuto vaidmuo ankstyvajame vaikų amžiuje kitų specialistų požiūriu. Tyrimo tikslas – atskleisti ergoterapeuto vaidmenį ankstyvajame vaikų amžiuje kitų specialistų požiūriu. Tyrimo uždaviniai: 1. Nustatyti, kokias problemas sprendžia ergoterapeutas ankstyvajame vaiko amžiuje. 2. Atskleisti, kokiais darbo principais ar taikymo metodikomis ergoterapeutas išsiskiria iš kitų komandos specialistų, dirbančių su ankstyvojo amžiaus vaikais. 3. Išanalizuoti, kokios ergoterapeuto profesinės savybės gali padėti vaiko lavinime. Tyrimo metodika: kokybinis tyrimas, naudojant pusiau struktūruotą interviu. Pagrindiniai empirinio tyrimo rezultatai: pagal atlikto tyrimo metu gautus rezultatus buvo išskirtos keturios pagrindinės ergoterapeuto vaidmens kategorijos: ergoterapijos veiklos sritys, ergoterapeuto darbo principai, išskirtinės ergoterapeuto darbo specifikos ir reikalingiausios specialisto savybės.	en_US
