dc.description Actuality of the topic: Children of social risk families are a specific client of a social worker who has various social and psychological peculiarities, which cause adaptation and social functioning problems. Children's day care centers are actively involved in solving the psychosocial problems of children at social risk families. Day care for children in day care centers is usually provided by social workers, day-care workers, social pedagogues, performing some of the essential roles: the mediator between the child and the teachers; an intermediary between the child and the parents and the essential role of the social educator (by socializing the child and forming his own assessment). When providing social education services to children of social risk families, it is necessary to understand their specific needs and problems that may be caused by inadequate perceived self-esteem (formed in the family). Therefore, in order to ensure effective social assistance for children at social risk families, it is necessary to analyze the perception and assessment of their own values. The aim of the task: To determine the self-assessment of children attending a day-care center from social risk families. The object of the task: assessment of the self-worth of children at social risk families attending the day center. The question of analysis: What is the assessment of the self-worth of children at social risk families visiting the day center? The type of analysis: the design of the research design essentially reflects the access to qualitative research, when analyzing the deep qualitative data (self-assessment) the psychodiagnostic method is complemented by a semi-structured interview. The application of these two methods is based on a systematic approach to research. The target of analysis: children at social risk families visiting the Children's Day Center. Insights: Analyzing the topic of self-assessment of children attending the day care center from social risk families, it has been identified that the assessment of the self-worth of a child is self-assessment of one's own capabilities, qualities and place among others. An analysis of the empirical research data revealed that most of the children attending the day center from social risk families have a negative or problematic (ambivalent) self-assessment in the categories "Social I", "Communicable Me", "Material Self", "Physical I" and "Activity I" . The study revealed a negative and problematic translation of the children's self-value, often due to the negative, inadequate response of parents, close family environment and members of the school community to these children. The study reveals volatile and ambivalent child interpersonal relationships and the problematic relationship between children and activities, the occupation, is explained by the inappropriate first-ever family model (social risk families often have dysfunctional, conflict-related relationships, parents often do not work, have no education or continuous activity). Taking into account the results of this research, social workers working with children at social risk families in day care centers are recommended to pay attention to the topic of assessment of children's self-worth, to organize employment activities in such a way that every child attending a day center could be successful and more often give a positive feedback to children. en
