Abstract
Šios temos aktualumą atskleidžia tai, kad savarankiško gyvenimo namai nėra ilgametę istorinę patirtį turinti veikla, tačiau jos naudingumo paneigti neįmanoma, kadangi pastaroji yra vienintelė alternatyva, kuri palaipsniui, o ne momentiškai suteikia asmenims galimybę gyventi savarankiškai. Žinoma, svarbu paminėti ir tai, kad Lietuvoje nėra daug mokslinių straipsnių, kurie analizuotų savarankiškų gyvenimo namų veiklą, iššūkius ir kt., o tai parodo ne tik temos aktualumą, bet ir šios temos naujumą.

The relevance of this topic is also revealed by the fact that independent living is not an activity with many years of historical experience, but its usefulness cannot be denied, as the latter is the only alternative that gradually allows individuals to live independently. Of course, it is important to mention that there are not many scientific articles in Lithuania that analyze the activities, challenges, etc. of independent living homes, which shows not only the relevance of the topic, but also the novelty of this topic.
