Assessment of the quality of life and independence of the people after the amputation of the lower extremity. The objective of the work. To assess the quality of life and independence of the people after the amputation of the lower extremity. Tasks. 1. To assess the quality of the people after the amputation of the lower extremity. 2. To assess the independence of the people after the amputation of the lower extremity. 3. Correlations of the quality of life and independence of the people after the amputation of the lower extremity. Methodology. 17 people, who had one leg amputated, took part in the study. The study was performed in the department of physical medicine and rehabilitation of Ortopedijos technika AB. During the study, it was aimed to assess the quality of life and independence of the people after the amputation of the lower extremity as well as the correlations between the quality of life and independence. Quality of life was assessed with EQ-5D-5L personal health questionnaire, independence was assessed with the functional independence test (FNT) and the researcher’s questionnaire with closed questions was used to ascertain the demographic indicators. Results. The results of the study revealed that the quality of life of the participants of the study is mostly disturbed in the areas of movement, self-care, every-day activity and pain / discomfort. Independence is mostly disturbed in the following areas: moving to bed, to the chair, wheelchair, in the toilet, bath/shower, walking, moving in the wheelchair, personal hygiene, washing, dressing of the lower part of the body. Strong negative relation was determined between the area of self-care and moving to bed, chair, wheelchair; in the toilet; bath/shower; walking, moving with the wheelchair. Conclusion. 1. People, who took part in the study, evaluate the quality of life worse in the following areas: mobility, everyday performance, self-care, pain / discomfort. 2. In the evaluation of independence, minimal support is necessary in the following activities: moving to bed, to the chair, wheelchair, in the toilet, to the bath, shower, walking, moving with the wheelchair, personal hygiene, washing, dressing of the lower part of the body. 3. After analysing the correlations between the quality of life and independence, it was determined that the more difficult is for the people to move, walk or move in a wheelchair, the more difficult is to take care of themselves, dress and wash themselves. en
dc.description.abstract Darbe supažindinama su amputacijų priežastimis, amputacijų lygiais, reabilitacija, ergoterapeuto vaidmeniu. Pateikiami tyrimo metu gauti rezultatai, kaip tiriamieji vertino savo gyvenimo kokybę ir kaip buvo įvertintas jų savarankiškumas po protezo pritaikymo bei pateikiamos išvados. en_US
