dc.description	Research method. Analysis of scientific and methodological literature, document analysis, survey questionnaire. Topicality. 30 The isssue of demographic aging is topicalnot only in Lithuania but also in the global arena. Aging is a complicated and inevitable stage in the development of an individual’s life, which is subject to physiological, social, and psychological changes. The ageing of the society increases the need for social services. Home care services for older adults and the elderly provide a social worker with a variety of difficulties that impede the quality of such services. Research aim. To identify various difficulties experienced by the social workers when providing home care service to older adults and the elderly. Research object. Difficulties experienced by a social worker when providing home care service to older adults and the elderly. Research question(s). What are the difficulties experienced by a social worker when providing home care service to seniors and the elderly? Conclusions.The study has reveladed that more than a half of the respondents face communication difficulties. It has also shown that one third of the respondents claim that there is a lack of information provided to older adults and the elderly about home care service. The difficulty arises due to the reluctance to accept help as well as the negative attidude towards the care provided by social services. A quarter of respondents have noted that another difficulty concerning the home care service provided by the social workers is a great distance among the clients, meanwhile, one third of the respondents pointed out that due to the financial difficulties, many clients are unwilling and unable to pay for the service provided. Half of the respondents expressed their dissatisfation with working hours; nearly one third of them indicated low wages, paperwork overload and client’s poor housing conditions. More than one third of the respondents indicated that working with older adults and the elderly can teach one patience and respect.	en
dc.description.abstract	Demografinio senėjimo problema yra aktuali Lietuvoje ir visame pasaulyje. Senėjimas yra sudėtingas ir neišvengiamas žmogaus gyvenimo raidos etapas, kuriam budingi fiziologiniai, socialiniai, psichologiniai pokyčiai.Visuomenės senėjimas didina socialinių paslaugų poreikį. Teikiant socialines paslaugas į namus pagyvenusiems ir senyvo amžiaus asmenims, socialinis darbuotojas susiduria su įvairiais sunkumais, kurie trukdo kokybiškai atlikti socialines paslaugas.	en_US
