The aim of this work was to reveal the activity of dental assistant while working with an endodontic doctor using different treatment systems. We had three main tasks for the research: 1. To describe the course of endodontic treatment using the ProTaper and SAF system. 2. Apply the duties of a dental assistant, functions and job specifics. 3. To estimate the differences between ProTaper and SAF systems during endodontic treatment. In this work were performed a scientific literature analysis and observation. The study took place from March 10, 2018 to April 20, 2018. In this research participated dental assistants who, by observing, managed to analyze the differences between dental worker's work using different treatment systems. A qualitative study, observation was selected to evaluate the differences in appropriation using ProTaper and SAF systems. This research method has allowed you to get a closer look at the specifics of dental assistant and the differences in dental asistant work using ProTaper and SAF systems. The results of the study revealed that while working with the ProTaper system, the dental assistants preparation for work and job placement takes a bit longer than working with the SAF system. The result is that while working with the ProTaper system, there are more instruments than working with SAF, at the end of the work the marking of the instruments takes longer. In addition, while working with the SAF system, the assistant should foresee the doctor's further steps and be a "front step", as this system maintains constant irrigation of dental root canals and the assistant can not retreat from the patient until irrigation is completed. The research revealed that the dental assistant must be innovative and know how to use different devices and materials, working together with the dentist, using four-handedly technique , it allow to provide ergonomic workplace. | en |
