dc.description	The translation of metaphors in business-related articles from English into Lithuanian is a professional bachelor thesis written by Karolina Furmanavičienė. The supervisor lecturer of the thesis is Ligita Judickaitė-Pašvenskienė. Kaunas University of Applied Science, Faculty of Arts and Education. Language centre. Kaunas, 2021. There are 32 references used in the thesis. The paper consists of 46 pages. The topic of the paper is translation of metaphors in business-related articles from The aim of the research is to reveal methods that are used while translating metaphors from Lithuanian into English in business-related articles. In order to achieve this aim, the following objectives were set: 1. to theoretically define the concept of metaphors and possible metaphor' translation methods, 2. to find out the translation methods applied in translating metaphors from English into Lithuanian in business related articles. The methods applied in the research are the following: 1. analysis of theoretical references that helped to define the concept of the metaphor and possible methods of translating, 2. descriptive, contrastive linguistic analysis that helped to reveal what methods are used while translating metaphors from English into Lithuanian The theoretical part analyses the valuable insights on metaphors and their translation strategies. From the theoretical analyses, it was concluded, that metaphors in business are very important to the development and maintenance of scientific theories. After reviewing the theoretical statements, a linguistic analysis of the translation of metaphors from English into Lithuanian in business-related articles was performed. In the practical part, it was concluded that translators choose different translation methods according to many factors, such as culture of both languages.	en_US
dc.description.abstract	Darbo aktualumas - tyrimas yra aktualus verslo anglų kalbos studentams bei vertėjams, kurie nori daugiau patirties, susijusios su šiuo dalyku. Darbo tikslas – atrasti bei analizuoti įvairius vertimo metodus, kurie naudojami verčiant metaforas iš anglų į lietuvių kalbą įvairiuose verslo straipsniuose. Darbo uždaviniai: 1. Teoriškai apibrėžti metaforos sąvoką ir galimus jų vertimo metodus, 2. Atskleisti vertimo strategijas, kurios taikomos verčiant metaforas iš Anglų į lietuvių kalbą verslo straipsniuose. Darbo metodai: 1. Teorinės medžiagos analizė, kuri padėjo nustatyti metaforos sąvokas bei vertimo strategijas. 2. Lingvistinė analizė, pagrįsta aprašymu bei palyginimu, kuri padėjo nustatyti labiausiai naudojamas vertimo strategijas. Teorinėje dalyje analizuojamos naudingos įžvalgos apie metaforas ir jų vertimo strategijas. Atlikus teorijos analizę, galima teigti, kad metaforų vartojimas verslo kalboje yra labai svarbus mokslinių teorijų plėtrai. Apžvelgus teorinę medžiagą, buvo atlikta lingvistinė metaforų vertimo strategijų analizė. Praktinėje dalyje padaryta išvada, kad vertėjai renkasi skirtingas vertimo strategijas, priklausomai nuo daug veiksnių tokių, kaip abiejų kalbų kultūrų ir tradicijų skirtumai.	en_US
