In this work, the analysis of scientific literature and the questionnaire survey were conducted in writing. To assess women's awareness of the effects of skin damaging ingredients, a quantitative study was carried out. The method of data collection chosen for this research was a written survey. The survey was conducted in April 2018, with 50 respondents participating in the study. The research instrument - the questionnaire - consisted of 16 questions.
The study revealed that most women have little information about harmful ingredients in cosmetics. The results show that women often read the label before buying a cosmetic product. Very few women know what parabens are, which indicates that women's knowledge about harmful ingredients is limited, since parabens are the most popular preservatives used in cosmetics. The study found that the awareness of the majority of women about the effects of skin damaging ingredients is moderate. In addition, a large proportion of women choose a different types of cosmetics (natural or synthetic).
