According to WHO stroke is the second mortality and third disability cause in the world. The overview of literature revealed the difficulties for persons after stroke and the effectiveness of occupational therapy at. The aim: Describe the importance of the home occupational therapy program for improving independence and psycho-emotional state for persons after stroke. The research objects: 1) Evaluate independence skills after rehabilitation and after occupational therapy at home. 2) Determine the psycho-emotional state after rehabilitation and after occupational therapy program. 3) To reveal the benefits of an individual program of occupational therapy at home for persons after stroke. The method and participants: The reach the aim of the study was chosen mixed study design which included qualitative and quantitative research methods. The study was conducted with two women after stroke. The duration of the study was 30 days, one study participant had an occupational therapy program at home, who was visited every 10 days, during this period the independence skills and psycho-emotional status assessment was performed by interview, and the other participant did not receive a program of occupational therapy, participant was visited after 30 days, performed an independence evaluation and an interview. Results: The results of the study showed that undergoing occupational therapy at home is necessary for people who have suffered a stroke. The assessment scores for the daily activity test showed that the skills of independence of case study 1 improved with the application of an occupational therapy program at home. The occupational therapist strongly contributes to increasing confidence and motivation, adapting at home and developing self-sufficiency skills. The survey also showed that communication with the client is very important, taking into account the client's goals and needs. At the end of the study, the participant and the family members suggested that occupational therapy‘s services at home is needed for people after stroke. Conclusions: 1) After rehabilitation, both subjects were able to help themselves, but they encountered difficulties adapting to their home environment. The application of the occupational therapy program at home is based on an improvement in autonomy skills compared to a case that was not covered by the ergotherapy program. 2) The psycho-emotional state after rehabilitation for both subjects worsened. After the applied occupational therapy program at home, the psychoemotional state of the subject was improved and the other without applying an occupational terapy program at home - deteriorated. 3) At the end of the study, it was observed that care services for relatives in the area of occupational therapy are necessary. The study showed that the need for occupational therapy services at home is for people after stroke.	en
