Pukienė, University of Applied Sciences, the Language Centre of the Faculty of Arts and Education. Kaunas, 2020. The paper consists of 42 pages, 25 references and 1 appendix. The paper is relevant to the students of business English, translators, civil servants who work with EU law documents, as well as entrepreneurs and economists. The subject matter of the paper is the translation of the terms of economics and business used in various EU documents. The problem question of the paper is which translation strategies are most commonly used in order to convey and sustain the correct meaning of the terms of economics and business while translating them from English into Lithuanian language. The aim of the paper is to identify the most commonly used patterns of rendering the meaning of the terms of economics and business in EU documents while translating them from English into Lithuanian. The objectives are: 1) to theoretically define the concept of the term; 2) to present theoretical overview of different translation strategies; 3) to reveal the most common translation patters while rendering the meaning of the terms of economics and business from English into Lithuanian. The methods used include: 1) the analysis of theoretical references; 2) the descriptive comparative linguistic analysis. The paper consists of two main parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part gives a review of the concept of the term, sign and the translation as a process. Having analysed the arguments found in the theoretical works of Mickienė and Briaukienė (2016), Pažūsis (2014), Baker (2008), Cabre (1999) and Zaikauskas (2014), the practical linguistic analysis was performed. The results of the linguistic study reveal that all translation procedures are used in order to transfer the most accurate meaning of the terms from the source language into the target language. However, it became clear that the most commonly used translation procedures which were excluded by Zaikauskas (2014) are equivalence, addition, contraction and expansion.	en_US
dc.description.abstract	Jelenskytės, Jorindos profesinio bakalauro baigiamasis darbas „Ekonomikos ir verslo terminų vertimas ES dokumentuose“. Baigiamojo darbo vadovė lektorė A. Pukienė, Kauno kolegijos Menų ir ugdymo fakulteto Kalbų centras, Kaunas, 2020. Baigiamasis darbas susideda iš 42 psl., darbe panaudoti 25 šaltiniai ir 1 priedas. Tema aktuali verslo anglų kalbos studentams, vertėjams, valstybės tarnautojams, dirbantiems su įvairiais Europos Sąjungos dokumentais, verslininkams bei ekonomistams. Darbo objektas yra ekonomikos ir verslo terminų vertimas įvairiuose Europos Sąjungos dokumentuose. Pagrindinė šio darbo problema - kurie vertimo būdai dažniausiai naudojami siekiant perteikti ir išlaikyti teisingą ekonomikos ir verslo terminų prasmę, verčiant juos iš anglų į lietuvių kalbą. Darbo tikslas - nustatyti dažniausiai Europos Sąjungos dokumentuose taikomus ekonomikos ir verslo terminų vertimo būdus, verčiant iš anglų į lietuvių kalbą. Darbo uždaviniai: 1) pateikti teorinį termino sąvokos apibrėžimą; 2) pateikti įvairių vertimo būdų teorinę apžvalgą; 3) atskleisti dažniausiai naudojamus vertimo būdus, siekiant išsaugoti ekonomikos ir verslo terminų reikšmę verčiant iš anglų į lietuvių kalbą. Darbo metodai: 1) teorinės medžiagos analizė; 2) lingvistinė analizė, pagrįsta aprašymu bei palyginimu. Darbas susideda iš dviejų pagrindinių dalių: teorinės ir praktinės. Teorinėje dalyje, remiantis Mickienės ir Briaukienės (2016), Pažūsio (2014), Baker (2008), Cabre (1999), Zaikausko (2014) bei kitų autorių darbais, aptariamos specifinės termino, ženklų ir vertimo proceso sąvokos bei ypatybės. Apibendrinus teorinius teiginius, atlikta lingvistinė analizė. Remiantis lingvistinės analizės rezultatais, galima teigti, kad visi vertimo būdai yra naudojami tam, kad kuo tikslesnė termino reikšmė būtų perkelta iš originalo kalbos į vertimo kalbą. Išaiškėjo, kad dažniausiai naudojami Zaikausko (2014) išskirti vertimo būdai yra sutapimas, pridėjimas, sutraukimas ir išplėtimas.	en_US
