dc.description	Bagdonavicius Adas typical linguistic features of the speeches of the presidents of Lithuania and rendering them in English Professional Bachelor Thesis. Scientific advisor, lecturer Ligita Judickaite-Pasvenskiene, Kauno kolegija / University of Applied Sciences, the Language Centre of the Faculty of Arts and Education. Kaunas, 2020. The paper consists of 40 pages, 17 references and 1 appendix. The paper is relevant to translators and students of translation who wish to learn about the use of linguistic features and their rendition into English. The subject matter of the paper is the definition of linguistic features, their uses and rendition into English language. The problem question of the paper is how often the linguistic features are used in the speeches of the presidents of Lithuania and whether their meaning changes after translation. The aim of the paper is to analyze the use of linguistic features in the speeches of the presidents of Lithuania and the methods used in translating them into English. The objectives are to analyze the speeches of the presidents of Lithuania, to analyze the linguistic features used in the speeches and to identify any changes that occur during the process of rendering the speeches into English. The methods used include: 1) the analysis of theoretical references; 2) the descriptive comparative linguistic analysis. The paper consists of two main parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part gives a review of the classification, use and specifics metaphors, metonyms and analogies. Having analyzed the arguments found in the theoretical works of L. Cameron (2010), Z. Kovecses (2010), F. Ruiz de Mendoza (2000), O. Laas (2017), E. Burmakova and N. Maruginab (2014) and others, the practical linguistic analysis was performed. The results of the linguistic study reveal that the speeches of the presidents of Lithuania contain a certain variety of metaphors and metonyms, but no analogies were present in any of the speeches. The analysis also provided with the conclusion that most of the translations use the “direct translation” method (lat. ‘sensu stricto’).	en_US
dc.description.abstract	Ado Bagdonavičiaus profesinio bakalauro baigiamasis darbas „Lingvistinės Lietuvos prezidentų pranešimų ypatybės ir jų perteikimas Anglų kalba“. Baigiamojo darbo vadovas lektorius Ligita Judickaitė-Pašvenskienė, Kauno kolegijos Menų ir ugdymo fakulteto Kalbų centras, Kaunas, 2020. Baigiamasis darbas susideda iš 40 psl., darbe panaudoti 17 šaltiniai ir 1 priedas. Tema yra aktuali vertėjams ir vertimo studentams, kurie tyrinėja lingvistines ypatybes bei jų vertimo metodiką. Darbo objektas yra lingvistinės ypatybės ir jų vertimo metodai. Pagrindinė šio darbo problema – kas yra lingvistiniai ypatumai, jų naudojimas bei jų perteikimo į Anglų kalbą būdai. Darbo tikslas – išsiaiškinti lingvistinių ypatumų naudojimo specifiką Lietuvos prezidentų kalbose, bei dažniausiai naudojamus vertimo metodus perteikiant lingvistinius ypatumus į Anglų kalbą. Darbo uždaviniai yra teorinis lingvistinių ypatumų ir jų naudojimo pagrindimas, bei jų naudojimo Lietuvos prezidentų pranešimuose ir perteikimo į Anglų kalbą analizė. Darbo metodai: 1) teorinės medžiagos analizė; 2) lingvistinė analizė, pagrįsta aprašymu bei palyginimu. Darbas susideda iš dviejų pagrindinių dalių: teorinės ir praktinės. Teorinėje dalyje aptariamos metaforų, metonimijų ir analogų rūšys, jų naudojimas, bei metaforų vertimo ypatumai. Apibendrinus teorinius teiginius, atlikta lingvistinė palyginamoji analizė. Remiantis lingvistinės analizės rezultatais, galima teigti, kad Lietuvos prezidentų pranešimuose yra labiau naudojamos tam tikro pobūdžio metaforos ir metonimijos, o analogai yra nenaudojami. Analizės metu taip pat paaiškėjo kad dažniausiai naudojamas vertimo būdas yra „Tiesioginis vertimas“ (lot. ‘sensu stricto’).	en_US
