Nėštumas - būklė, kurios metu tiek nėščiają, tiek jos kūne esantį vaisių veikia įvairūs rizikos veiksniai, galintys turėti poveikį abiejų sveikatai, vaisiaus vystymuisi. Lietuvos nacionalinėje burnos sveikatos 2016-2020 metų programoje teigiama, kad „asmens lankymosi pas odontologą įpročiai lemia jo burnos sveikatą“. Nėštumo laikotarpiu moters organizme vykstantys pokyčiai gali turėti neigiamos įtakos burnos ertmės sveikatai, todėl svarbu žinoti kaip ją tinkamai prižiūrėti.

The aim of this work is to assess the patients knowledge of the relationship between individual oral higiene and oral health during pregnancy. The objectives of a study are: to describe individual oral health during pregnancy, to explain in theory the importance of individual oral hygiene and risk factors for oral health, and to reveal patients' knowledge of the relationship between oral hygiene and oral health during pregnancy. In order to achieve this goal, the analysis of scientific literature and quantitative research were performed, the data collection method that was chosen is anonymous survey. The results of the research showed that patients' knowledge of the relationship between individual oral hygiene and oral health during pregnancy is very low, with an average of 56% after self-assessment by those who participated in the study. That seems very minimal and inadequate nowadays.
