dc.description	Ageing is a process that is determined by internal changes in the body and negative environmental conditions. It is known that physiological ageing occurs when cellular atrophy occurs during fragmentation or regeneration (Herman, Rost-Roszkowska, Skotnikka-Graca, 2013). Ageing symptoms of facial skin are visually visible, and one of the most popular way to minimise the changes in the skin is to use AHA acids (Alpha-hydroxy acids). AHA acids are used in chemical peelings, which can be made up of glycols, almonds, milk, citric acids. Chemical peelings with AHA acids cause skin inflammation, which activates skin mechanisms to reduce it and stimulate the production of new cells. The epidermal regeneration processes are activated in the skin, which improve the colour, elasticity, moisture content of the skin, reduce the depth of wrinkles, brighten pigmented areas of the skin. Purpose of the study: To reveal the opinions of cosmetologists and their clients about the effects of AHA acids on the mature skin. Research tasks: To theoretically explain the processes and aspects of ageing of the mature skin; to define the mechanisms of how AHA acids work and their effects on the mature skin; to identify and compare the opinions of cosmetologists and users on the effects of AHA acids on the mature skin. Description of thesis and methodology: the survey was based on respondents answering questions on the questionnaires in writing. The survey was completed by 30 cosmetologists who perform procedures with AHA acids for mature skin and 50 clients from 35 to 70 years old for whom a cosmetologist has performed procedures with AHA acids to correct ageing skin symptoms. According to the study, women undergoing chemical acid peeling procedures the most are 35 to 50 years old. The opinion of cosmetologists and clients matched that the most effective AHA acid is glycolic acid with concentration from 20% to 40%. According to clients/users, the procedures with AHA acids effectively enhance skin pigmentation and improve the colour of the skin. Clients more than cosmetologists feel the increase in skin moisture after the course of the procedures, but cosmetologists often notice a decrease in fine lines. Cosmetologists and clients agree that AHA acids have unpleasant effects on the skin during the procedure and after it, such as skin redness, burning, irritation, but it is a normal reaction of the skin to the acid-induced inflammation in the skin.	en
