Description

Topicality, novelty. The growing number of children with autism spectrum disorder encourages interest in their development and educational opportunities. Children with autism spectrum disorders often find themselves in pre-school institutions among healthy children, so it is very important that educators are able to educate children with ASD. As children with ASD lack social competence, it is necessary to find out how their competence can be developed. This would help to identify problematic areas of education and improve them so that children with ASD would not be left behind and properly educated. This gives children with ASD a chance to live in the future, to live full and qualitatively, to avoid social exclusion. Investigation problem. There are kindergartens in Lithuania where children with an ASD are educated. However, parents often do not want to admit a child's illness, which is why children find themselves in kindergarten-free children. There is no clear system for educating children with ASD. All these problems encourage the formulation of the final research question: How is the development of social competences of a child with an ASD implemented in a Lithuanian preschool education institution and what obstacles are encountered? The object of research - development of social competences of children with ASD. The aim of the research is to reveal the possibilities of the development of social competences of children with ASD in pre-school education. Results, conclusions. Educators working with children with an ASD are professional, have a lot of work and effort to develop social competence skills. In Lithuania, pre-primary education institutions lack specialists, and there are no therapies for children with ASD. The measures used in the research to develop the social competence skills of children with an ASD have made positive changes.
