dc.description Relevance. No one can avoid the process of accumulation of plaque in oral cavity. If it is not removed in time, it becomes harmful and can cause diseases of teeth and gums. As dental diseases progress, it becomes more difficult to repair the defects by using sealants, that is why dentists often need to do the prosthetic or dental implantation work. In the case of restorative materials, the plaque in the oral cavity accumulates further - both in the teeth and in the restorations. When removing the plaque during professional hygiene, the oral hygienist should pay attention to what restorations are in the oral cavity of the patient and what measures are suitable for removing the plaque. By choosing the wrong remedies, there is a risk that after the procedure the plaque will accumulate even more due to the scratches of the restoration surfaces. During the study it is analyzed the opinion of the oral hygienists about accumulation of plaque on different restorations, what measures are used to remove it, whether the patient is given counseling on how to stop the accumulation of plaque and whether any remedies are recommended to use at home. Objective of the study. To reveal the opinion of oral hygienists about the accumulation of plaque on different restorations and the ways to remove it. Tasks of the study: 1. Theoretically define the bacterial plaque and the peculiarities of its formation in the oral cavity. 2. Describe the ways of removing the bacterial plaque. 3. Reveal the opinion of the oral hygienists about the formation of the plaque on different restorations and discuss in detail the ways of its removal Material and methods. The study is done by using the incidental quantification method involving 125 respondents (124 women and 1 man). Study results. Some of the respondents (23.2%) state that they do not notice that the plaque accumulates differently to different restorative materials. The majority of the respondents (64.8%) notice its different accumulation. Later, the results were analysed comparing the responses of these two groups, taking into account the different opinions of oral hygienists about the accumulation of plaque to different restorations. After analysing the study data, it turned out that the opinion of the respondents who notice the change of plaque to different restorations is determined by practical activities – 43.8%. Respondents who do not notice the change in plaque indicate that their opinion is mostly influenced by the experience of their colleagues – 51.4%. Almost half of the respondents (42%) who notice the change in plaque to different restorations use appropriate, plastic and teflon instruments when they work on the ceramic surface restorations. The ones who do not notice the change in plaque presented different results, 86.2% of them stated that they use the same instruments as for teeth. The results show that more than half of the respondents (51.5%) who notice a change in plaque to different restorations use glycine. More than half (54.5%) of those who do not notice the change in plaque indicate using sodium bicarbonate when polishing restorations by abrasive aeration. The majority of respondents (79%) who notice a change in plaque to different restorations believe that the scratched surface of the restoration can increase bacterial adhesion. More than half (62.1%) of the respondents who said that they did not notice the change in plaque to different restoration state that scratching affects the aesthetic image. Conclusions. The analysis of the study data shows that the oral hygienists who do not notice the change in plaque to different restorations remove it using improper tools and scratch the surface of the restorations. Most of the oral hygienists who notice the change in the accumulation of plaque to different restorations use appropriate tools to remove plaque. They also state that improper tools can scratch the surface of the restorations and increase the accumulation of the plaque after the procedure en
