Topicality and identification of a problem. Recently, there is an increasing number of children who lack social skills which complicates their social life. According to S. Kiškienė, “pre-primary education aims to facilitate the transition to systematic learning at school” (Social Skills Development in Pre-school Age, 2005). For a systematic learning, the child who has acquired five very important competences is ready. The author of this topic seeks to figure out opportunities for developing social competences in pre-primary groups. The aim of the study – to reveal opportunities for developing social competences in pre-primary groups. The objectives of the study: 1. Theoretically justify social competences possibilities of developing in pre-primary groups. 2. To determine educators’ attitude towards the peculiarities of social competences development of pre-school aged children. 3. To initiate, plan and realize educational project and provide educators with recommendations. The object of the study – develompent of social competences in pre-primary group. Methods: 1. Analysis of scientific literature and documents to determine possibilities to develop social competences of pre-school aged children. 2. Survey, semi structured interview, which is applied to find out educators’ application in developing pre-school aged children’s social competences ir preprimary groups. 3. To plan and implement an educational project on the basis of the research. The volume of the study: summary in the Lithuanian and English languages, introduction, three chapters (theoretical, research and practical), conclusions, recommendations, publications and annexes.
