Auksė Juškauskaitė (oral hygiene care study program) completed the final work of professional Bachelor’s thesis on theme “Opinion of young people about periodontal diseases impact on oral health”. Aim of the final work is to reveal young people’s opinion about periodontal diseases impact on oral health. Research tasks: 1. Define the concept of oral health. 2. Describe most common periodontal diseases amongst young people. 3. Ascertain young people’s opinion about periodontal diseases impact on oral health. Preparing of this work and wanting to ascertain young people’s opinion about periodontal diseases impact on oral health the analysis of scientific literature and the quantitative research were completed. The chosen type of the gathering of the information – online survey. The research took place on May 1 – 22, 2018. 113 respondents participated on this survey. Participants for research were selected by non-probabilistic commemorative sampling method. The instrument of survey – questionare – consisted of 18 questions. The study has shown that most young people think that oral health declines because of periodontal diseases and that is impossible to obviate gingival diseases with only by brushing teeth and without professional’s help. The study also revealed that most of the respondents have main signs of and don’t know about having periodontal diseases, because they rarely or never visit oral hygiene specialist that causes signs of periodontal diseases. Majority of young people choose individual oral hygiene products by price and brand and only quarter of respondents choose them by specialist recommendation.
