Lietuvoje socialinis darbas apima labai daug įvairių sričių, viena iš jų – socialinis darbas su socialinę riziką patiriančia šeima. Šeima yra intymi aplinka, kurioje du ar daugiau žmonių sukuria socialinę grupę. Tai artimiausia žmogaus aplinka, svarbiausia visuomenės vertybė, natūralus pirminis vienetas, kurioje žmogus turėtų teigiamus santykius su kitais šeimos nariais, taip pat kurioje turėtų jaustis saugūs, tačiau socialinių problemų turinčiose šeimose ryšiai dažniausiai yra sutrikę, pagrinde vyrauja disfunkciniai santykiai. Ekonominiai, socialiniai, psichologiniai veiksniai sudaro prielaidas šeimoje atsirasti alkoholizmui, vaikų nepriežiūrai, smurtui, kurie įvardinami kaip negatyvūs socialiniai bruožai. Socialiniai darbuotojai, dirbdami su socialinę riziką patiriančiomis šeimomis, savo darbe susiduria su sunkumais teikdami pagalbą šeimoms, dažnai patiria riziką darbe, kuri pasireiškia socialinę riziką patiriančios šeimos narių pasipriešinimu ar agresija, o tai apsunkina socialinių paslaugų teikimą. Socialinis darbas su socialinių problemų turinčiomis šeimomis yra įvairiapusiškai sudėtingas darbuotojui. Socialinis darbuotojas stengdamasis padėti įveikti iškilusias problemas, socialinių problemų turinčioms šeimoms, dažnai pats susiduria su situacijomis, kurios kelia grėsmę ne tik psichologiniam, bet ir fiziniam jo saugumui.

The relevance of the subject: Social work in Lithuania includes a lot of different fields, one of them is social work with social risk families. Family is a intimate environment in which two or more individuals create a social group. Moreover, a person feels the closest to his family’s setting which is the most important value in our society and the primary unit. Consequently, a person should have positive and strong relationships with his family members and feel safe. However, in families with social problems these connections are disrupted and relationships are dysfunctional. Economic, social and psychological factors are the main reasons for alcoholism, neglect for children, violence, to occur, which are seen as negative social features. Social workers, do work with social risk families in difficulty, the work often have difficulties in providing assistance to families. Very often they face with risks at work, that social suffering family provide. the risk of suffering from the social family. Their resistance and aggression hinders the provision of social services. Social work with social risk families is very complex. Social worker, who is helping the family to overcome the difficulty of social risk very often faced difficult situations, which threatens not only psychological, but also health physical and security.

Social worker gets the high workload, much of the work are subjected to supplementary obligations, complex work situations, up to 10 or more families in the provision of services. When working with clients often face occupational risks such as:insult, not available, and often lost customer passivity, aggressiveness, about once a month in the face of the client or his or her relatives resulting security threat. All these factors promote the efficiency of the services provided and the quality, which means that the social worker is unable to carry out its work, the faster the change that you want to reach customers.
