| dc.description | Relevance of the topic. Rapid "population ageing" is a relevant matter today. As the numbers of aged and elderly increase, the inpatient care facilities start to play a bigger part in their lives. However, the functioning of these facilities would be unimaginable without the assistance of a social worker. The object of the thesis – the activity of a social worker in an inpatient care facility for the aged and elderly people. The aim of the thesis – to reveal the social worker's activities in inpatient care facility for the aged and elderly people. The question of research – what are the activities of a social worker in an inpatient care facility for the aged and elderly people? The research methods – a quantitative research was conducted in which 27 residents of foster home district were interviewed. The questionnaire survey method was chosen for the research. The questionnaire consists of 24 questions. The survey was conducted in early May 2019. Conclusions – the results of the study revealed the activity of a social worker in an inpatient care facility for the aged and elderly people. Most of the respondents were satisfied with the work of the social worker, but they also did not deny that they were lacking attention and communication with the social worker; the respondents claimed that they required more attention from the social worker. Moreover, it turned out that the foster home is rarely visited by the volunteers, which, in a way, could ease the work of a social worker. | en |
