dc.description	Relevance of the topic: ever changing pace in lifestyle and shifting view in dependance and treatment create high demands for social workers determining various issues while working with persons suffering from dependence in a treatment facility. The social worker must evaluate the situation in the evolving society, be up to date with the laws of the Republic of Lithuania, know how to apply correct treatment methods without losing professionalism and work efficiency, and must remain alert in all social situations. Social workers must also know how to perform in a team setting and work within a qualified specialist group. Sumatter the reseach problem: social workers’ difficulties while working in a treatment facility for those suffering with dependence. Aim of the research: to determine social workers’ experienced difficulties while working in a treatment facility for those suffering with dependence Subject matter of the recearch: social workers’ experienced difficulties while working in a treatment facility for those suffering with dependence. Research question: what problems are social workers faced with while working in a treatment facility for those suffering with dependence. Method of the research: qualitative analysis. Findings of the research: during the research period, it was determined that social workers, upon meeting patients, are faced with: clients’ mistrust, fear, shortage of motivation, skewed view of reality, loneliness, and denial of the disease. Informants state that during consultation with dependent clients, they are exposed to: manipulation, lies, lack of recognition of feelings, blame of external factors, and avoidance of vulnerability. In addition, researchers stated that they had difficulty finding clients’ strength. Being a mediator between the clients and their loved ones, researched noted that often times the client is left to recover on their own while at the treatment facility. They do not want to participate in the recovery process, deny the illness, or present the clients with ultimatums. Researchers emphasized that there are many difficulties due to clients being stigmatized and labeled. Research participants noted that while teaching clients social and stress coping skills, they are faced with mood changes, internal control, loss of responsibility, and deviation from daily agenda. While trying to motivate clients to change, problems arise with objections in trying to change and discover their strengths, avoidance in trying to understand the dynamics of the disease, resisting self-care, and resistance in group therapy participation.	en
dc.description.abstract	Socialinių darbuotojų sunkumai ir patiriamos problemos dirbant su priklausomybę turinčiais klientais svarbus reiškinys priklausomų asmenų sveikimo procese ir jų sprendimo būdų ieškojime. Socialinis darbuotojas turi palaikyti adekvatų ryšį su priklausomybę turinčiais klientais ir gebėti jiems padėti įveikti jų socialinę atskirtį. Tuo pat metu pats išlikti ramus, patikimas, gebantis skausmingai deklaruoti tiesą, padedantis susigrąžinti atsakomybę priklausom asmeniui. Socialinio darbuotojo kompetencijos, kvalifikacija ir patirtis įtakoja problemos nustatymą, jos priėmimą bei preliminarius sprendimo būdus. Socialiniai darbuotojai turi mokėti dirbti su specialistų komanda bei pasinaudojant kitų specialistų įžvalgomis, ką galima tobulinti ar keisti kliento gydymo procese, numatyti veiklos strategijas.	en_US
