Recently a great amount of attention has been paid to maternal health. According to various studies, attentive medical care plays an important role in saving fetuses and mothers. Worldwide women tend to get pregnant at older age, therefore it requires closer medical attention during pregnancy. The aim of the research is to identify an attitude of pregnant women to mandatory tests during pregnancy. Research tasks: 1. To define mandatory tests and their importance during pregnancy. 2. To discover opinion and knowledge of pregnant women about mandatory tests. 3. To discover opinion and knowledge of pregnant women about laboratory and instrumental tests. 4. To identify an attitude about visiting medical specialists ant the necessity of examinations during pregnancy. Method of research. A quantitative survey was conducted in a department of pregnancy pathology in the X hospital . Period of investigation - November - December, 2018. The research instrument is an anonymous questionnaire composed by the author of the work. The questionnaire includes sociodemographic data (age, residence, marital status, education, labor history), knowledge and opinion about mandatory clinical examination, knowledge and outlook to laboratory and instrumental tests during pregnancy, understanding about necessity of tests and visits to medical institutions. 68 respondents participated in the study. Research results. Survey showed that more than half of respondents knows and understands the objectives of examination. Most of the respondents have a positive opinion on the mandatory tests during pregnancy. Some of the women cannot tell the purpose of the tests and it might result in refusal of the examination. Generally, almost 53 percent of respondents are satisfied by the antenatal medical care while 41,2 percent are partly satisfied as they believe that some of the tests lack quality in performing it. Conclusions. 1. Pregnancy is a physiological process in which any intervention and pruning must be acceptable to a pregnant woman. 2. The majority of women who participated in the study had a positive view of the mandatory clinical trials during pregnancy. More than half of the respondents realize that laboratory and instrumental research are effective and beneficial to their and their fetal health, as well as the reasons for their research. Some of the respondents do not know the significance of conducting the research and therefore consider it negative. 4. During the research it was found that half of all respondents appreciate the antenatal care in Lithuania and think that all research is necessary and useful. |
