dc.description	Relevance of the topic. Aging population is the most prominent social phenomenon in the 20th and 21st centuries. In a constantly changing, full of challenges world, health care for the elderly has become increasingly important and has been given a more and more attention (Janušonis, 2017). Thus, there is a need for specialists of social work to solve social problems of old people. The final thesis presents the characteristics of old people, as well as reveals the typical features of this group. From the theoretical point of view, it also provides the concept of the attitude and describes public attitude towards old people. The author in his work reveals the peculiarities of social work with old people, such as social worker's competence, values, social services, social worker’s roles, i.e. it discloses the peculiarities of social work with old people. The final part of the final paper describes the empirical research and its results in order to identify the attitude of future social workers to work with old people. The aim of the thesis is to reveal the attitude of future social workers towards the work with old people. The objectives of the thesis: 1. To describe the characteristics of old people. 2. To describe public attitude towards old people. 3. To reveal peculiarities of social work with old people. 4. To identify the attitude of future social workers towards the work with the elderly. Methods of the thesis: review of scientific literature and legal documents. A questionnaire was prepared, the results of which are depicted in the diagrams. After identifying the attitude of future social workers towards the work with old people, the results of the survey showed that most respondents respect the elderly. Thus, it can be concluded that respondents’ attitude towards old people is positive. Also, the vast majority of respondents believe that the attitude towards the work with the elderly influence the social worker's choice to work with this client group. So, if the respondent's position is negative to the work with the elderly, then there is probability that a social worker will not work with this client group.	en
dc.description.abstract	Baigiamajame darbe pristatoma senų žmonių charakteristika, išskiriama, kas yra būdinga šiai klientų grupei. Taip pat teoriniu aspektu pateikiama nuostatos samprata ir apibūdinamos visuomenės nuostatos į senus žmones. Autorė savo darbe atskleidžia socialinio darbo ypatumus su senais žmonėmis, tokius kaip socialinio darbuotojo kompetencijos, vertybės, socialinės paslaugos, socialinio darbuotojo vaidmenys, tai yra atskleidžiama socialinio darbo specifika dirbant su senais žmonėmis. Paskutinėje baigiamojo darbo dalyje aprašomas empirinis tyrimas ir jo metu gauti rezultatai, siekiant identifikuoti būsimų socialinių darbuotojų nuostatas į socialinį darbą su senais žmonėmis.	en_US
