Faculty of Medicine, Kaunas, 2018.-52 p. The aim of the study: to evaluate the effectiveness of the Perfetti method on the cognitive functions of individual‘s after stroke. Research objectives: 1) To evaluate the change of cognitive functions for individual‘s after stroke, using Perfetti method during occupational therapy. 2) To evaluate the changes of cognitive functions for individual‘s after stroke during occupational therapy. 3) To compare the effectiveness of occupational therapy and occupational therapy using Perfetti method and to evaluate it’s effects on cognitive functions for individual‘s after stroke. Research methodology and participants: a quantitative study was carried out. The study was conducted in Departement II of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Kaunas Clinical Hospital. The study lasted from February to April of 2018. This reasearch involved 16 people with a history of a stroke, 14 women and 2 men. The age average of the subjects was 77.56 ± 7.46 m. Individuals were randomly divided into two groups: 8 subjects in Study Group I and 8 in Study Group II. Group I participated in a rehabilitation program during which an individual occupational therapy program was conducted 3 times a week, and 2 times a week - occupational therapy sessions, using the Perfetti method to improve cognitive functions. Group II also had a rehabilitation program in which individual occupational therapy (5 sessions per week) was conducted in order to restore and improve impaired cognitive functions. Occupational therapy sessions took place 30 minutes every day for all subjects. The duration of the study - 3 weeks. All subjects at the beginning and end of the study were evaluated by the Montreal Cognitive Function Assessment Questionnaire (MoCA - LT), Numbers Assignment Test (TMT - A), and Numbers and Letters Coupling Test (TMT - B). Results: According to the data of the Montreal Cognitive Functions Questionnaire – I study group had a total score of 18 points at the start of the study and the 21.13 points after the end of the study were statistically significant changes in cognitive functions (p <0.05). After evaluation of the II group, where only the usual occupational therapy was performed at the beginning of the study, the total score was 20.5 and at the end - 22.88 points, and a significant improvement was observed (p <0.05). The study showed that the change in cognitive functions in the study did not differ statistically significantly between groups (p> 0.05). Upon evaluation of Groups I and II, a greater change in cognitive function before and after the study was observed in the study group I, where Perfetti method was used. Conclusions: 1) The cognitive functions of individuals after stroke significantly improved by using Perfetti method during occupational therapy. 2) Cognitive functions of individuals after stroke has significantly improved at the end of occupational therapy program. 3) When comparing two groups: I group, where occupational therapy and Perfetti method was used and II group where only occupational therapy program was used, no significant difference were detected in cognitive functions of the subjects.	en
