Baigiamasis darbas pradedamas įvadu, kur atskleidžiamas temos aktualumas, tyrimo ploblema, tyrimo tikslas, tyrimo uždaviniai bei tyrimo metodika. Literatūros analizę sudaro trys dalys: pirmoje dalyje – pristatoma ortodontinio gydymo samprata bei poreikis, antroje dalyje – aprašoma gydytojo odontologo padėjėjo pareigos, funkcijos bei atsakomybės, o trečioje dalyje – pristatoma gydytojo odontologo padėjėjo veikla dirbant su gydytoju ortodontu. Empirinėje dalyje aptariami tyrimo rezultatai. Baigiamojo darbo pabaigoje pateikiamos išvados, rekomendacijos, priedai bei literatūros sąrašas.

Ieva Biliutaviciute (study programme odontological care) done the final work "Dentist's assistant activities with an orthodontist". The project leader is lecture Ausra Kepene. Kaunas College, Faculty of Medicine, Department of oral health. Kaunas, 2018. The aim of this final work is to describe a dentist's doctor's assistant activities with an orthodontist. Three research objectives are: 1. To substantiate the concept and need for orthodontic treatment. 2. To describe what are the duties, functions and responsibilities dental assistant. 3. To discuss the work concept between the dental assistant and orthodontist. In this work were performed a scientific literature analysis and questionnaire based survey . The study took place from March 10 to April 20 in 2018. In the survey participated 92 orthodontic assistants. While evaluating the work of the dentist's assistant activities with an orthodontist was performed a quantitative survey and the method of data collection was chosen - an anonymous survey. The results of the research showed that all respondents were women (100%). All interviewed respondents (100%) work with orthodontists, but they (46%) think that then need more skills for working with the orthodontist. The orthodontic assistants who have participated in the survey are able to choose the right spoon for prints which are used for production of diagnostic models (82%), orthodontic wire activations (28.3%), to tie orthodontic wire with elastic ligatures (59%). It is obvious that all orthodontic assistants (42.4%) can’t provide first aid because most often it does orthodontist. The question for respondents in this questionnaire was - what are the procedures for which the assistants are able to prepare tools and material: bonding braces (72.8%), rebonding of braces (83.7%), orthodontic wire change or activation (85.9%), fixing reteiners (75%), herbst appliance preparation and application (37%), orthodontic plate correction and activation (68.5%), cementation of rings (75%), taking prints for production of diagnostic models (96.7%).
