Pirmojoje dalyje pristatoma makiažo paskirtis, aprašomos naudojamos priemonės ir įrankiai makiažui atlikti. Antrojoje dalyje aprašomi moterų psichologijos ir emocijų pagrindiniai aspektai, jų atpažinimo būdai bei neverbalinės komunikacijos svarba, apžvelgiamos emocijų psichologijos sąsajos su makiažu ir išvaizdos defektų įtaka moters emocinei būklei. Trečioji dalis skiriama tyrimo analizei, eksperimento, interviu ir stebėjimo metodų nagrinėjimui ir aprašymui bei gautų rezultatų apibendrinimui.

Woman is an emotional creature. Scientists and practicioniers claim that use of cosmetics is beneficial to women‘s emotional health and self – esteem: makeup can change woman‘s pshychological state for the better and it is proven that the excretion of stress hormones and blood preasure decrease after the makeup procedure is done (Pössel, Ahrens, 2005). Researchers Cotterill and Cunliff (2012) made a conclusion that the most important part of the body for women is face and that clients, who have facial imperfections or pathologies are more likely to be suicidal and suffer from depression. These are the reasons why it is very important for cosmetologist to choose the most suitable makeup for concealing facial imperfections.
Problem of the research: How makeup changes woman‘s emotional state? Aim of the research: to evaluate the impact of makeup on woman‘s emotional state. Object of the research: the impact of makeup on woman‘s emotional state. Objectives of the research: 1. To overview theoretically the purpose of makeup, techniques and tools. 2. To make a theoretical validation of the main aspects of woman‘s emotional psychology. 3. To accomplish the empirical research on changes of woman‘s emotional state. Methods of the research: 1. The analysis of scientific literature, which aims to overview theoretically the purpose of makeup, techniques and tools and to make a theoretical validation of the main aspects of woman‘s emotional psychology and its relationship with makeup procedure. 2. Experiment, which aims to find out the impact of makeup on woman‘s emotional state, observe how they change during the makeup procedure. 3. Interview, which aim is to understand the emotional psychology of women and their character traits. 4. Observation. The aim of this method is to observe how do women‘s emotions change deciding from their body language during makeup procedure and to complement previously mentioned methods. Participants: 3 women of different age (48, 24 and 18 years old) and appearance which included esthetical appereance problems such as cancer, hypopigmentation and acne were chosen for the research. Results: makeup did not help to solve appereance problems, such as alopecia for the first woman but it helped to feel more confident about herself because of common appereance changes; the hypopigmentation was succesfully concealed and the colour of the skin was evened out for the second participant; for the last participant the acne was covered and acne spots were completely covered. To sum up, findings of the empirical research showed positive impact of
makeup procedure – makeup changed women‘s emotional state for the better and made them feel more confident and happy about themselves.
