Santrauka:
Literatūrinėje analizėje prašoma riebios dehidratuotos odos sąvoka bei odos dehidratacijos atsiradimo priežastys, kasdieninės priežiūros priemonių skirtų riebiai odai veikimo mechanizmas, neteisingos priežiūros sąsaja su odos drėgmės būkle bei veido odos dehidratacijos prevencinės galimybės. Empirinėje dalyje aprašoma tyrimo metodika bei pristatomi tyrimo rezultatai, atskleidžiama odos drėgmės lygio sąsaja su riebios odos kasdienine priežiūra.
Description:
The first sing of a healthy skin – the firm epidermis – traps the moisture in the skin and
maintains soft and smooth skin surface. Oily skin is considerably thicker and is associated with
larger pores and shiny surface caused by the excessive secretion of the sebum, which after mixing
with dead skin cells, impurities and beauty products can clog and foul the skin.
In this thesis the analysed thematical field focused on the legitimate way of taking care
of the oily skin in order to avoid the lesion and other unwanted irritations caused by the lack of
water in the epidermis. The problem of the research is thus formulated as follows: what is the
connection between the level of moisture and the skincare for the oily skin? In order to solve the
problem, the thesis aims to reveal the connection between the level of moisture and the skincare
for the oily skin. In order to reach the aim, the following objectives have been set out: to reveal
the reasons behind the dehydration of the oily skin and the characteristics of it; to introduce
theoretical explanation on the effect of the everyday skincare products for oily skin in relation to
the moisture of the skin; to determine the impact of daily skincare of the oily skin to the moisture
level of the skin. The object of the research is the connection between the level of moisture and
the skincare for the oily skin.
The theoretical insights of the thesis consist of the overview of the mechanisms
maintaining the skin’s moisture: the structure of the stratum corneum lipids, the natural
moisturising factor in the corneocytes, moreover, the reasons for the increase in skin’s
vulnerability and the effect on other functions of the skin are introduced. In order to guarantee the
health of the skin in theory the benefits of the products (cleansers, scrubs, tonics, creams, serums
and face masks) and the active ingredients incorporated in them which are helpful in maintaining
the moisture level of the skin are introduced: the restoration of the protective barrier, the activation
of the regenerative processes that directly improve the visual appeal of the skin.
The empirical part of the thesis focuses on the research carried out with the diagnostic
device “Skin analyser Soft Plus”. The device was used to examine the influence of the moisture
level of the skin to the inner and outer condition of the skin and to determine if daily skincare
products can affect the changes in moisture levels of the skin. By using the diagnostic device the
condition of the women facial skin, the usage of the skincare products and its affect to the skin
was overlooked in the thesis. Furthermore, in order to evaluate the impact of women skincare
habits on the condition of their skin, a survey of the clientele present in the diagnostic was carried
out.
After a careful analysis it can be concluded that the moisture level of the skin is affected
by the skincare of the oily skin. The average moisture level of the respondents which, according
to the survey were taking care of their skin in a unsuitable way (N=25) was 50,2%, while the skin

of women that participated in the research and did not experience the lack of moisture in the skin
(N=5) had the 72,8% of the average skin moisture level. Moreover, respondents with the normal
level of moisture revealed the more frequent usage of serums, face masks and scrubs. Such data
implies that usage of additional skincare products can have an impact on the rise of the facial skin
moisture level.
