Temos aktualumas.
Tyrimo objektas: pacientų motyvacijos kaita ortodontiniam gydymui.
Tyrimo tikslas: nustatyti pacientų motyvacijos kaitą ortodontiniam gydymui.
Tyrimo uždaviniai:
1. Aprašyti ortodontinio gydymo aparatus ir jų sukeliamus fizinius veiksnius;
2. Aprašyti taisyklingos burnos priežiūros ypatumus nešiojant ortodontinius aparatus;
3. Nustatyti ortodontinių pacientų motyvaciją gydymo pradžioje;
4. Nustatyti ortodontinių pacientų motyvaciją gydymo metu.
Tyrimo metodai: atlikta mokslinė literatūros analizė ir empiriniam tyrimui atlikti pasirinkta kiekybinio tyrimo analizė.
• Duomenų rinkimo metodas – apklausa internetu.
• Duomenų analizės metodas – aprašomoji statistika.
Description:
Relevance of topic: The World Health Organization (WHO) has identified orthodontic anomalies as the third most common oral health problem after tooth decay and periodontal disease. Improper occlusion and tooth crowding not only cover aesthetic problems but also affect chewing, speaking, tooth wear, and dental and gum health (Khraisat et al., 2016). Research on the quality of life related to oral health has shown that adverse effects due to improper occlusion may be particularly important (Kavaliauskienė et al., 2018). The motivating factors to start orthodontic treatment are various. The concept of motivation can be defined as a conscious or unconscious stimulus to act to achieve the desired result (Geoghegan, F., et al., 2019). Today, orthodontic treatment apparatus are less noticeable and create an aesthetic image, which involves a higher percentage of adult patients (Fraundorf, E., C., et al., 2022).
Research problem: how changes patient motivation during orthodontic treatment?
The object of the research: change in patient motivation during orthodontic treatment.
The aim of the study: to determine the change in patient motivation during orthodontic treatment.
Research tasks:
1. To describe orthodontic treatment apparatus and induced physical factors;
2. To describe oral hygiene care wearing orthodontic appliances;
3. To determine the change in patient motivation at the begining of orthodontic treatment;
4. To determine the change in patient motivation during orthodontic treatment.
Research methodology and participants: the analysis of the scientific literature was performed and the quantitative research strategy was chosen for the empirical research.
• Data collection method used: online survey.
Descriptive statistics calculations were used for data analysis: means and frequencies.
