Santrauka:

Conclusions of the research: Problems of families and women in Crisis Centre are solved in complex, help of specialists as well as common and special social services are provided. Women’s Crisis Centres are fulfilling the function of secondary prevention: distinguishing groups of risk and actions, causing violance in families, prostitution, victims, suffered from human’s trafficing and others, providing assistance and help for them. This helps to strenghten economic and legal independence of women, to provide them assistance and help. Roles of a social worker are closely intertwined and related to possesed knowledge and competence. Most often a social worker is fulfilling a few roles at the same time. The goal of all those is to create conditions for the person (family) to develop and strenghten skills and capabilities in solving their own social problems and cultivate social relations with society and help them to overcome social disjuncture. The results of the research revealed that women identified all 14 roles of social workers, described in literature. Women, living in Women’s Crisis Centre, mostly identified the role of a social worker as a data processing person. The roles of mediator, provider of service, and empowerer go after that. The least identified role of social worker was the one of a community planner.
