Description:
For years, researchers have been trying to find out if cell phones are harmful and cause cancer. In the long run, the results are very different and contradictory, but researchers confirmed the fact that frequent and intense use of the mobile phone can lead to glioma development, sleep disorders, reproductive system disorders, headaches, changes in glucose metabolism. (H. AlSerori, 2018)
This research explores the exposure of mobile phones to electromagnetic radiation and SAR to the brain. The purpose of this study is to measure and evaluate the penetration of electromagnetic radiation emitted by mobile phones to simulated head tissue. The tasks set for the research are the analysis of scientific and business literature on the impact of electromagnetic radiation on the human body, evaluation of the collected data, the study of the radiation emitted by the mobile phone and its absorption into simulated head tissue using a phantom head model. Bachelor work consists of literary and empirical research results analysis. The literature section, based on research carried out from 2012 to 2018, covers most of the health-related problems caused by mobile phones and addresses the radiation exposure of the child's body. Thermal and non-peripheral effect of mobile phones are also discussed. The empirical study used a model of head phantom consisting of gelatin and 1 cm thick glass. The density of the gelatin corresponds to the density of the brain, and the glass corresponds to the skull density. The results are converted to the SAR value according to the formula, with a rate of 2 W / kg according to European standards. 15 different manufacturers smartphones and keypad phones were measured. The measurements are made by an electromagnetic radiation measuring device with two main touch and 15 ° angle positions. An empirical study found that the increase in the angle of the phone from 15 ° to 45 ° did not change the SAR value. The brain receives more radiation than the response time. The smartphone at the time of interconnection and deployment exceeds the normal limits. When comparing the SAR values obtained at the touch and 15 ° angle positions, it turned out that at an angle of 15 ° the radiation was less even up to 9 times the exposure position. In 2006, researchers have shown that the child's brain absorbs 60% more electromagnetic radiation than adults. (A. de Salles, 2006) The keypad phone emits significantly less radiation than the smartphone, the limits were not exceeded in touch and 15° angle positions.
