Description:
Theme. Comparison of carcass classification criteria for various pig of crossbreeds. The work was carried out on the basis of data obtained from AB "Kiaulių veislininkystė", 7 different pig breeding complexes and the company that categorized carcasses. In total, were investigated 69256 pcs., various pigs of crossbreeds. The obtained data was determined by various technologies (ruler method, Fat-o-Meat'er S70, Piglog 105). Characteristics was analyzed of fattening indicators of pig cross - breed (fattening started (age at days, weight, kg), age at 100 kg, daily gain, feed consumption per kg of obesity, kg), meat characteristics, carcase quality (slaughtered (age at days, weight, kg), carcase weight, kg, half-carcase length, cm, muscle diameter, cm2, fat thickness, mm, leanness, percent). These data are compared between different pig of crossbreeds. Object of work - pigs, pig carcasses, pig farms. Novelty and relevance of the work - research of fattening and carcass quality cross-breeds of different pig of mixed breeds in Lithuania were performed 12 years ago, during this period the leanness and other characteristics of the pigs were observed, therefore the aim of this research is to compare the change over the years and to compare the results obtained between various pig of crossbreeds. The aim of research - to compare carcasses classification of various pig of crossbreeds. Research concluded that the quality indicators for fattening and carcass quality of pig of crossbreeds were ascertained: 1. Improved cross - bred growth was found in those combinations where were used duroc boars. This group of crossbreds has the highest daily gain (862 g) and rapid growth (age at 100 kg - 163 days). So, from the point of view of fattening indicators, it is useful to grow hybrids of yorkshire, landrace and duroc breeds. 2. After examining the characteristics of the meat, it is evident that the maximum thickness in two points was determined for the yorkshire and landrace crossbreeds, respectively 12.2 mm and 11 mm. The maximum thickness of the muscle was also determined of yorkshire and landrace breeds - 59.9 mm. The highest lean meat content of all groups was distinguished by crossbreds of landrace, large white and pietrain crossbreeds, with lean meat content 61.8%. 3. The quality of carcasses was most pronounced in landrace, large white and pietrain crossbreds, the minimum thickness (16.5 mm, 9.5 mm, 10.0 mm and 7.5 mm) and the maximum length of the carcase half (100.6 cm), also was determined the maximum lean meat content (61.8%).
4. When the control fattening and slaughtering pigs were performed, after studying the fattening indicators, meat quality and carcass quality indicators of different pig crossbreed groups, it can be argued that the most effective is to grow crossbreds of landrace, large white and pietrain crossbreeds.
