Sleep is an important human need, we all need it for a healthy, functioning life. It is an important
physiological and it can be a psychological need as it is crucial for maintaining mood balance and
mental function.
As a profession that by its nature it have a high risk of disturbing human basic psychological needs,
it is a profession which dealing with stress and timing in daily basis. Poor sleep can be part of this
job and it is part of the hospital nurses, by a study on Asian staff nurses it indicate that in a general
number of staff nurses from 26.4% to 39.4% do have sleep disturbance [1].
Nurse’s workload is generally very high and that will have an impact on health as well as the
increase of chance of burnout and stress related problems. A review on related literature have found
that 39.8% of nurses have a high risk of insufficient sleep (IS) ration [47].
By an increase in nurses sleep disturbance and insufficient sleep there will be a high risk and
increase of the clinical errors, decrees in work efficiency, increase in clinical occupation accidents
and injuries [3].
Aim of research: To compare Ambulance nurses and day clinic nurses sleep quality.
Research objectives:
1. To understand the sleep physiology, importance of sleep and public health, sleep quality of
nurses and poor sleep quality and the problems that it cause on the healthcare providers
2. To evaluate the sleep quality and possible sleep problems of nurses
3. To Analyze the influencing factors of sleep disorders and wellbeing risk that oppose to the
healthcare professionals working in night shift schedules and 24 hour shifts
Method: This is a cross-section study done by number of nurses participating in filling the
questioner of Epworth and Pittsburgh standard sleep index test. We have chosen two group of nurses
in two different clinical environment, they are from different age groups and marital status. The first
group are the ambulance nurses of Kaunas city emergency medical service, the second group are the
day clinic nurses of Kaunas hospital. There was two questioner (Epworth and Pittsburgh) with no
personal data which was field by nurses who are willing to take part in the study. The data collected
by these two standard test are collected and put to the use for this study.

Tyrimo aktualumas: Miego poveikis žmogaus sveikatai,o ypač profesonalams dirbantiems
medicinos sektoriuje,kuriems dėl darbo pobudžio yra ypatingai sudėtinga palaikyti sveiką ir
efektingą miego rutiną, to supratimas yra labai svarbus norint sukurti gerą atmosferą darbe taip pat
norint pagerinti darbuotojų efektingumą ,produktivumą ir bendrą pasitenkinimą .Šio tyrimo
pagrindinis tikslas yra išryškinti miego teikiama naudą profesonalams dirbantiems sveikatos
sistemoje remiantis dvejomis slaugių gripėmis skirtingoje darbo aplinkoje . Abi slaugytojų grupės
atliko miego kokybės vertinimo tyrimą kurio metu buvo stebimos miego problemos ir sutrikimai ir
kokią įtaką tai daro jų darbo kokybei, bei bendrai savijautai. Tuo pat metu analizuojame šias
problemas ir ieškome galimų sprenidmo būdų .Tyrimas buvo atliktas egzaminuojant 40 slaugių
dvejose skirtingose sveikatos gydymo įstaigose Kaune, juose slaugytojos dalyvavo savanoriškai
pildydamos anketas su skyrtingais miego kokybės vertinimais.
Tyrimo tikslas: Palyginti skubios pagalbos medicinos slaugių ir dienos klinikoje dirbančių slaugių
miego kokybę.
Rezultatai: Pagal surinktus duomenis iš 18 % savanoriškai dalyvavusių slaugytojų skubioje
medicinos pagalboje dirbantis personalas turėjo sutrikimų PSQI teste, 12 % turėjo anomalijų pagal
Epworth testo rezultatus,tai parodo, jog viena iš penkių slaugių šiame skyriuje. Palyginimui
25%dienos klinikos slaugytojų turi miego sutrikimų kurių sąntykis yra 1:4 ir 3% pagal PSQI testą
turejo anomalijų rezultatuose. Apibendrinant rezultatus, skubios pagalbos slaugytojas dažniausiai
kankina mieguistumas ir nuovargis dienos metu, kai tuo tarpu jų kolegos dienos klinikose susiduria
su miego sutrikimais.
