Santrauka:
Temos aktualumas. Komoje esantys pacientai, besigydantys intensyvios terapijos
Tyrimo objektas. Slaugytojų, bendraujančių su komoje esančių pacientų artimaisiais,
intensyvios terapijos skyriuje, patirtys.
Tyrimo tikslas – atskleisti slaugytojų patirtis, bendraujant su komoje esančių pacientų
artimaisiais, intensyvios terapijos skyriuje.
Duomenys
renkami pasitelkus pusiau struktūrizuotą interviu metodą, kurį sudaro 8 klausimai. Tyrimo
imtis – 10 slaugytojų, kurie parenkami atsižvelgiant į kriterijus: darbo patirtis intensyvios
terapijos skyriuje ne mažiau nei vieneri metai bei laisvanoriškas sutikimas dalyvauti tyrime.
Tyrimo rezultatai. Tyrimas atskleidė slaugytojų patirtis, siekiant užtikrinti komoje
esančių pacientų artimųjų poreikius, bendravimo metu. Slaugytojų patirtys, informuojant, yra
pagrįstos skubėjimu, bendravimo vengimu ir apribojimu, nepilnavertiškumo jausmu, artimųjų
pasitikėjimu bei pakankamu žinių kiekiu. Siekdami valdyti artimųjų emocijas, slaugytojai ir
patys patiria neigiamas emocijas, atsiribojimą, norą padėti, o kartais ir bejėgiškumo jausmą.
Slaugytojai, užtikrindami saugumo poreikį, patiria optimizmo jausmą, abejojimą savo
kompetencija ir nenorą prisiimti atsakomybės. Patirtys, susijųsios su poreikiu rūpintis, yra
pagrįstos artimųjų poreikio patenkinimu, siūlomos pagalbos priėmimu bei atstūmimu.
Description:
Topic relevance. Coma patients in the intensive care unit are unconscious and unable
to complete the communication process. Relatives become a part of this process, as they
struggle to cope with an unpredictable situation and not lose hope that their family member will
recover. It is the responsibility of the nurses to take a holistic approach to the care of the patient
and to look after the patient's family. Therefore, it is very important to do research and analyse
what nurses have to deal with when meeting the needs of patients’ relatives.
Research problem. What is the experience of nurses interacting with relatives of
coma patients in the intensive care unit?
Research object. Experiences of nurses interacting with relatives of coma patients in
the intensive care unit.
Research aim – to reveal the nurses' experiences of interacting with the relatives of
coma patients in the intensive care unit.
Research tasks: to define aspects of nurses' communication with coma patients and
their relatives; to describe the care needs of relatives of coma patients in a nursing setting; to
reveal the experience of nurses to meet the needs of relatives during communication in the
intensive care unit.
Research methodology and subjects. The analysis of sources of scientific literature
and the survey of informants is used to complete achieve the tasks. A qualitative study was
chosen to explore and reveal the experiences of nurses in meeting the needs of relatives during
communication. Data is collected using a semi-structured interview method consisting of 8
questions. Research scope – 10 nurses selected based on criteria: work experience in intensive
care unit for at least one year and voluntary consent to participate in the research.
Research results. The study revealed nurses' experiences to meet the needs of
relatives of coma patients during communication. Nurses' experiences in informing are based
on rush, avoidance and restriction of communication, feelings of inferiority, trust of relatives
and sufficient knowledge. To manage the emotions of relatives, nurses themselves experience
negative emotions, alienation, a desire to help, and sometimes a feeling of helplessness. Nurses,
when meeting the need for security, experience a feeling of optimism, doubt about their
competence and unwillingness to take responsibility. Experiences related to the need for care are based on meeting the needs of relatives, acceptance and rejection of the help offered.
