vaikus.
Tyrimo uždaviniai: aprašyti infekcinę diarėją klinikiniu požiūriu; išsiaiškinti
slaugos veiksmus, slaugant vaikus, sergančius infekcine diarėja; nustatyti slaugytojų,
slaugančių infekcine diarėja sergančių vaikų, edukacinę veiklą.
Tyrimo metodika: taikomas kiekybinis tyrimas – apklausa raštu. Tyrime
Description:
Relevance of the bachelor thesis: Relevance of the chosen topic can be based on
the prevalence of infectious diarrhea among children aged 1 to 5 years. According to the
survey of Communicable Diseases and AIDS Center “Communicable Diseases in
Lithuania 2017”, the highest incidence rates of bacterial and viral bowel infections were
among children under 6 years of age. About 2000 people per thousand and above
hospitalizations for rotavirus and norovirus, bacterial -derived intestinal infections is in the
age group 0 to 6 years. Although comparing these figures to 2016 statistics show a slight
decrease in sickness rate, but it remains one of the most common diseases among children.
Aim of the study: to evaluate nurses' activities nursing children with infectious
diarrhea.
Tasks: to describe infectious diarrhea from a clinical point of view; to elaborate
on nursing actions in the care of children with infectious diarrhea; identify the educational
activities of nurses caring for children with infectious diarrhea.
Methodology: Quantitative research and written survey have been applied. The
survey included 40 respondents, nurses in general practice. Statistical analysis of data was
performed.
Results and conclusions: Nurses caring for persons infected with infectious
diarrhea must follow all instructions given by the physician. In the case of infectious
diarrhea, it is important to educate the child and their parents on proper hygiene, so that the
infection would not become contagious or the infection would not recur in the future. It is
also important for the nurse to teach parents how to properly prepare and process food, as
ill-prepared, processed food accounts for a large part of infectious diarrhea. It is important
for nurses to take preventive measures to avoid complications. One of the most common
complications is dehydration, so it is important to monitor your child and teach parents
how to recognize the signs of dehydration. When dehydration occurs, the nurse's primary
nursing actions include restoring electrolyte and fluid balance and monitoring fluid secretion.
