Vienas iš trijų labiausiai visuomenėje paplitusių miego sutrikimų yra griežimas dantimis, kitaip dar vadinamas bruksizmu, įskaitant knarkimą ir kalbėjimą miegant. Remiantis literatūra, didėjant patiriamo streso dažniui, blogėja miego kokybė. Tyrimų duomenimis, studentai, kurie nurodo, jog stresą patiria dažnai arba labai dažnai, savo miego kokybę atitinkamai vertina blogai arba labai blogai. Literatūroje dažnai pabrėžiama, jog bruksizmas yra emocijų ir streso išraiška. Remiantis atliktų tyrimų duomenimis - aukštas patiriamo streso lygis tarp studentų koreliuoja su bruksizmo pasireiškimu. Tyrimo metu buvo siekiama nustatyti studentų patiriamo streso ryšį su bruksizmu ir miego kokybe.

The aim. To identify the relationship between bruxism, sleep quality and stress between students.
Tyrimo uždaviniai: 1. Theoretically identify the concept of sleep and stress. 2. Define the cause and forms of bruxism. 3. Theoretically explain the relationship between bruxism, sleep quality and stress. 4. Identify the relationship between bruxism, sleep quality and stress during the study time.
Research – 140 respondents attented the research. Of whom 126 were females and 14 males.
Methods. Anonymous online survey was used to collect the information from students. 17 questions were provided. Collected data were processed using “Microsoft Excel 2013” program.
Results. Collected data showed that the students of Medicine Faculty suffer from high level of stress. More than half of them are feeling nervous in general, they stated that their daily activities are hard and exhausting, at the of the day they are feeling physically and mentally exhausted. Approximately half of the students are feeling stressed every day. It was identified that around 24% of students have active sleep bruxism. More than one third of the participants evaluated their sleep quality bad or very bad.
Conclusions. 24% of students suffer from sleep bruxism. It was identified strong correlation between students with bruxism and their experienced stress. Participants with bruxism evaluated their sleep quality bad or very bad.
