Santrauka:

The results of the online survey were collected by publishing its link on the Internet and social pages. 66 respondents participated in the research, of which 78.8% (52) were women and 21.2% (14) were men. The age of respondents ranged from 18 years up to 40 years and more. The respondents were asked to answer 13 questions divided into two blocks. In the first block, the respondents answered questions about dental fears and in the second block about sedation. The analysis of the results of the research was done making tables and diagrams, using MS Excel 2010 program. The results of the research showed that, despite the improvement of dental treatment and its innovations, patients have fear of dental treatment. The most common fear is pain. Patients also suffer from unpleasant feelings due to an analgesic syringe, drill sound, odors. One of the ways to overcome the fear of dental treatment is choosing sedation. Many respondents answered that they would choose sedation for more serious dental procedures such as tooth extraction, but the high cost of sedation in private dental clinics is not available to them. A pleasant communication of dentist, his assistant with a patient also helps to reduce fear of dental treatment. The patient must always feel comfortable and safe, trust the dentist, his team.
