Gynybinio paveldo objektai atlieka šviečiamąjį, memorialinį vaidmenį. Šio paveldo objektai pasižymi unikaliomis erdvėmis, architektūra. Atkreipiant dėmesį į šių objektų memorialinę reikšmę galima teigti, kad tai yra moralinis įsipareigojimas išsaugoti prisiminimus ir pagarbą praeities įvykiams, taip perduodant prisiminimus kitai kartai, siekiant išsaugoti kolektyvinę atmintį. Organizuojant renginius gynybinio paveldo objektuose yra bandoma apibrėžti memorialines vietas platesnio kultūrinio kraštovaizdžio kontekste. Tačiau laikui bėgant, tai kelia pavojų eksponatams ir įvykiams, kurie tampa pernelyg komercializuoti (Dimitrovski, Senić, Marić, Marinković, 2017). Siekiant išvengti komercializacijos problemos, memorialinio pobūdžio vietovės, renginiai yra menkinami ir mažiau sureikšminami. Tačiau suradus atitinkamas priemones, organizuojami renginiai prisidėtų prie gynybinio paveldo objektų populiarumo, lankomumo, žinomumo bei skatintų visuomenę domėtis paveldu. Tinkamai išnaudojamas gynybinio paveldo objektų mokslinis, turistinis ir kultūrinis potencialas rengininių organizavimui atliks šviečiamąjį, memorialinį vaidmenį bei sieks užtikrinti vietovių vystymąsi išvengiant neatitaisomos žalos, kuri gali pasireikšti vėlesnėse kartose.

Defensive heritage sites performs educational, memorial role. Drawing attention to these objects memorial meaning it can be said, that is memorial commitment to save memories and respect past events, thus transmitting memories to the next generation, to preserve collective memory. Organising events at defensive heritage sites attempts to define memorial sites in the context of a wider cultural landscape. The aim of the (professional BA thesis): to analyze the possibilities of organizing events in defensive heritage objects in municipalities of Kaunas city and district. Objectives of the (professional BA thesis): 1. To introduce theoretical possibilities of events management in defense heritage objects; 2. To analyze situation of organizing events in defensive heritage objects in municipalities of Kaunas city and district; 3. To carry out research on the possibilities of organizing events in defensive heritage objects in municipalities of Kaunas city and district; 4. Provide solutions to popularize events in defensive heritage objects. Methods of the (professional BA thesis): analysis of scientific literature, interview, survey, SWOT analysis. The structure: thesis contains three parts. Theoretical part of the thesis discusses information about the concept of defensive heritage, classification of events and principles of their organization, motives of tourists (participants of events) in choosing events for defensive heritage objects and adaptation of the infrastructure of defensive heritage objects to events. In the analytical part of the work, analyzing the situation related to the organization of events in defensive heritage objects, the following statistical data are discussed: how many objects of defensive heritage are located in municipalities of Kaunas city and district, how many events are organized, what attendance is received. In The analysis of the situation is complemented by defense heritage objects experts interview and event visitors in defensive heritage objects survey, aimed at finding out their opinion on the possibilities of organizing events in defensive heritage objects, impact in municipalities of Kaunas city and district.Third part of thesis provides ways to promote events in defensive heritage objects. In order to solve the problem of insufficient information dissemination, it is proposed to use social networking tools and create a mobile application. Both solutions will solve the problem of information dissemination in a complex way. The results/conclusions: the events organized at the defensive heritage sites contribute to the popularity of the objects, the development of the infrastructure, and encourage the public to be interested in the defensive heritage, it‘s history. However, in order to fully utilize the potential of defensive heritage objects in municipalities of Kaunas city and district in organizing events, the dissemination of information needs to be improved.
