Description:
Description of the (professional BA thesis) – storage and order assembly are the main warehouse processes that most greatly influence the effectiveness of the warehouse. The assembly of the products for clients is one of the most important factors in the warehousing process because it affects the quality of service and both the loyalty and trust of clients. Therefore, if there are problems in the assembly process, they affect both the effectiveness of warehousing and the relationships with customers. The main problem of the (professional BA thesis) – low-quality process of product assembly using product selection lists which increase the possibility of mistakes. The aim of the (professional BA thesis) – analyze the process of product assembly in Fazer Lietuva UAB and provide possible solutions. Objectives of the (professional BA thesis) – improvement of the process for processing of goods of Fazer Lietuva UAB. Methods of the (professional BA thesis) – when analyzing the process of assembling the goods, it was based on scientific research and both comparison and graphic representation methods. When preparing suggestions for the improvement of goods assembly, a quantitative study (a survey) was conducted as to gather information and to identify the quality problems of the process of assembling goods. Also, it was chosen to conduct a qualitative study (a half-structured interview) as to address the problem more deeply. Short suggestions/recommendations – having analyzed the main problem (poor-quality goods assembly process due to selection lists which increase the risk of errors), 3 possible alternatives were proposed: implementing either the “Pick to light”, the “Pick to voice”, or the “Put to light” system. After thorough analysis of all these systems, the “Pick to light” system was suggested, as it would not only let the employees work faster, but also eliminate the need for printed selection lists, which would help to categories data more effectively and to ensure that all the right goods are delivered to clients.
